Actually, there might be some hope on that: During telecasts of the NFL Playoffs, the bug on the top right corner was refreshed. And it looks like the new peacock design, but with a white border added; so there may be some applications where the border will stay intact.

Vivid Zero added the new O&O weather graphics to their gallery: https://vividzero.com/work/abc-weather/ Considering that nothing else outside of the weather elements have shown up anywhere, plus Vivid Zero has put up a gallery of what's already made it to air, could this mean that the long-rumored new O&O look is just standardized weather graphics and that the "much more to come on this project" simply means that the rest of the O&Os will be adopting it soon???

OK, I know the "let's make the secondary station more prominent than the primary station where newscasts are based at" thing has been done before elsewhere (remember FOX45 News on ABC22 in Dayton?). But it doesn't make any sense here. KCBS is the West Coast flagship of CBS with the combined 2/9 news operation that will be named CBS News Los Angeles, except now it will originate from KCAL, the independent station, while KCBS, the West Coast flagship of CBS, will be relegated to secondary status. If this isn't the definition of @$$-backwards management, I don't know what is.

There's this article from when MyNetworkTV was two years into being a programming service, with this highlight from Nexstar CEO Perry Sook: "With MyNetworkTV, I get more inventory per hour than I would get from Fox or ABC, albeit at lower ratings."

I don't know if anyone has noticed this, but apparently the overnight repeats of Top Story w/ Tom Llamas on NBC stations are now using the bug for NBC News Daily! It used to be the NBC News Now logo animation with the word "NOW" deleted. This screenshot was taken from earlier this morning...

Motion Graphics agencies that did news graphics in the late 90s?

Does anyone know who designed the 1997 Media General graphics, as well as WFLA's 1995 graphics that they were based on? -
Speaking of KCNC, I came across this video from yesterday featuring a couple of stingers that I haven't seen before; and they look really close to the newer CBS branding - https://www.cbsnews.com/colorado/news/dangerous-flooding-emergency-message-larimer-county-sheriff/ Could this be a possible hint at the new graphics?

I don't think having separate L3's for anchors is the problem if it's done right. It's definitely the design in Tegna's case, as this is bordering on looking like KMSG's original set of overblown lower thirds. Hearst has used separate L3's for anchors since the first diagrid look, and they work very well. It also helps that they actually look decent. (They still do this with the current look, but it's been consolidated onto the same L3 background) Examples of separate L3's from the 2012 diagrid look: Regular L3: Anchor L3:

Actually, that looks like a ripoff. -
Well then again, they adopted the 2007 WEWS graphics in 2012 after the Renderon look, so this wouldn't be the first time they've downgraded...

I just checked KOVR's live stream. The O&O graphics have not changed.

I don't know. I can't see John Christopher Burns doing a direct ripoff of another graphics package like that. -

The WTVJ look was actually done by Novocom. Not sure about the WESH version, which I'm pretty sure is a ripoff. -
Aside from the ABC logo, this is the first thing that I immediately thought of when I saw this (and what it's most likely based on as they're both owned by Scripps):
-
ABC started using the new logo as their on-screen bug during The View today.

Actually, if you right-click the image to a new tab or window from Mission broadcasting's website, the URL reads: "https://missionbroadcastinginc.com/stationlogos/wnac_tv_providence_logo__nexstar_styled__by_unitedworldmedia_ddxkyww-fullview_1623891723.png" Nevermind, it was already mentioned.

I think that the extra time/temp on the extreme lower right is actually from the Today Show's Namedropper ticker.
-
This is a spanish newscast. Why is their ticker in english???

You know what else got lost? They also got the Tegna graphics: https://youtu.be/AeFsLjpr9S0 And WQAD may be next because they're a different logo on their website right now.- 3735 replies

That was adapted from Raycom.

Nexstar's graphics hub is based in Nashville, which would explain this.
-
Both logos are on their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/foxeastidaho/

Does stolen logos count as knockoffs? I'm asking this because KXPI-LD in Pocatello, Idaho stole the logos of FOUR other Fox stations! (KSWB, WNYW, WTTG and WAGA)
