  1. To be honest that’s probably why Sunny Leigh posted that she had left KOKI she has that lawsuit against Sinclair for age discrimination.
  2. Sinclair strikes again in Tulsa at either KJRH (Scripps) or KOKI (Ricon) or continues to ruin KTUL….
  3. If you want some news WPTV was the first to get the graphics this year but it’s still a really slow roll out.
  4. Wanted to bring up a couple of changes in OKC market. Pilot Mason Dunn no longer at KFOR he’s back at KWTV flying SkyNews 9, Shelby Love left KOKH and is also at KWTV where she will be an anchor/ reporter, and the last is Tevis Hillis left KWTV and from I have found is now the press secretary for Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt.
  5. Carly Smith has been named Chief Meteorologist at KIII replacing Alan Holt who recently left for sister station News Center Maine.
  6. Just wanted to put this out here, 10pm broadcast is the last at the current building before KSDK fully moves to their new building.
  7. News out of Tulsa radio again. Griffin Media announced that the call letters KVOO and KXBL will flip stations starting next Monday. KVOO originally started on AM 1170 (Big Country 1170) before moving over to the FM side. This was a being down for KVOO’s 100th anniversary on air. So Monday KXBL will now be 98.5 The Bull while KVOO will be Big Country 99.5.
  8. Scripps has denied Sinclair’s proposal to buy them.
  9. Part of it has to do with a licensing issue with Warner Chappell Production Music and it’s effecting the entire library of music. Apparently there was also lay offs within the News music division side.
  10. Well KTUL has a meteorologist that will be handling the weekday evenings and that is Kirsten Lang (formerly at KJRH years ago). She returned to Tulsa TV this evening at 5pm, so it will be her and Joie handling weather for Tulsa while OKC’s team will continue to help when either of them need off and OKC will still handle weekend shows (which is still stupid). One thing to note she wasn’t hired as the Chief Meteorologist that position is still being considered so there might be a chance she will end up as KTUL’s chief and would be the second female to be named the Chief at KTUL. I added her first full wx hit from the 5pm show. https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1Fza29sd8r/?mibextid=wwXIfr
  11. She is now heading to Nashville to be the weekday evening meteorologist for NewsChannel 5. Also FYI she’s rejoining Scripps she was with Scripps working at KJRH in Tulsa, Oklahoma for 3 years.
  12. News in the radio side of Tulsa and that is Dr. Robert Zollener (Zollener Media Group) that bought the COX-Tulsa radio stations has not renewed Dan Potter’s contract he was the host of the KRMG Morning News after Joe Kelly left. He was with the station for 18 years. I also was laid off from my radio/digital media position from SMG-Tulsa after 4 1/2 years back in September.
  13. Also in other Tulsa tv news… KOTV meteorologists Stacia Knight and Alan Crone announced they will be flipping schedules. Alan has been on 6 in the morning for 19 years while Stacia who was originally on 6ITM then went to evenings for the past 8 years on the 4 and 9pm shows rejoins the 6ITM team from 4:30am-8am (Stephen Nehrenz will remain the 8am and noon meteorologist) and Stacia will do the 9am show. This will take effect November 3rd. https://www.newson6.com/story/68f6374fbb2704d102dce12f/alan-crone-stacia-knight-swap-oklahoma-weather
  14. I mentioned this in the Sinclair page but once again KTUL is looking for a Chief Meteorologist as they have released Jason Nappi who had only been in the position for about 3 or 4 months.
  15. And yet again KTUL is looking for a Chief Meteorologist… Jason Nappi has been released from the position and he had only been with 8 for about 3 or 4 months.
  16. KOTV’s set is about to debut this evening. Set is the same that sister station KWTV has but has some tweaks such as the wall by the big 6 logo has a backdrop of Downtown Tulsa, the Bob Mills Weather Center doesn’t have the led crawl above the wall like 9’s and they have a telestrator screen for weather to use during severe weather coverage while 9 doesn’t have that.
  17. Since this isn’t been mentioned FOX23 meteorologist Makayla Smith left KOKI-TV after 3 1/2 years on Sunday September 14th. She and her husband are moving to OKC where his family is and she will still be doing weather just not on tv. I think she maybe joining HailTrace which is in the OKC Metro area.
  18. The only changes made to the set was a new anchor desk and large video wall behind the anchors. The weather center remains the same.
  19. Here it is KXII 12 News Daybreak.
  20. Here is KXII’s new logo first alert weather branding and GrayOne graphics as of the 4pm newscast they haven’t aired the new logo or full graphics (only a few on the weather segment) but have changed them on the website kxii.com. Well tomorrow is the date of the debut of the new logo and GrayOne graphics. https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1B9bGYEyqM/?mibextid=wwXIfr
  21. KXII is rebranding their News 12 AM to KXII News 12 Daybreak starting this Friday along with adding additional newscast starting September 8th from 7-8am on FOX and See tv channels of theirs. They will also be dropping the Weather Authority branding and going to First Alert Weather.
  22. Yep the only thing that is live during the Scripps-cast (at least at KJRH) is weather and sports.
  23. KTUL has another new Chief Meteorologist. Jason Nappi joins both KTUL and KOKH where we will be doing 5,6,10pm for Tulsa and covering OKC when Jack Gerfen is off. He has officially started as of yesterday but will make his on air debut Friday morning when he gets introduced to the markets and will do the weather that evening.
  24. KJRH is the same 4:30am 12pm and 10pm are Scripps-cast while 5/6am and 5/6,6:30pm are live.
  25. Former KTUL weekend evening anchor Kim Jackson is back in the tv business and is joining KOTV as weekend anchor (hasn’t said if she will be on mornings or the evenings) after a few years away and living in DC where she was at WJLA then left to go into real estate.
