  1. God please do sell KTUL to a better company.
  2. KTUL has their new Chief Meteorologist after Chris Nunley’s departure Kevin Coskren formerly from WRDW/WAGT he will start this week.
  3. They switched at noon today.
  4. Another one leaving KTUL after only being at KTUL since the end of September Chief Meteorologist Chris Nunley is leaving for Salt Lake City and joining Scripps FOX13. News Channel 8 has had the opening for ktul since beginning of January and has had applicants but have not made an announcement or anything as of yet.
  5. I know this person wasn’t an on air talent but former KJRH Vice President and General Manager Amy Calvert has been hired by Sinclair as Vice President and GM of KOKH-TV in OKC hopefully she can help make the newscasts better for both KTUL and KOKH.
  6. KXII in Sherman. KTEN used to use First Alert but dropped to be known as KTEN Weather. KXII uses Weather Authority.
  7. Yes they did I posted it on the set page.
  8. Ruben Diaz formerly of KTUL in Tulsa, KFSM in Arkansas, and WTTV in Indianapolis has joined WATN In Memphis as a morning anchor he started yesterday morning. https://www.facebook.com/share/xcTgD7acsADu9qwQ/?mibextid=aubDjK
  9. KOLD has the GrayOne graphics and went with red.
  10. Dang makes me wish they didn’t sell FOX23 here in Tulsa would of been great to see new graphics instead of what they have now that’s been in use since 2014.
  11. The 5pm is exactly as was told it started with KTUL went to OKC for state wide news, back to KTUL for weather back to OKC for consumer news and ending with them signing off KTUL’s 5pm.
  12. He said that it would be OKC handling the weekends (Colton and Michelle will handle weather and sports for OKC and Tulsa while John Hayes moves to weekdays as a reporter only). Weekdays Chris, Brenna and TJ will handle the 6 and 10pm and TJ will also handle sports for OKC. Joie stayed on the morning show to handle weather and reporter McKenzie Richmond also stayed on the morning show.
  13. The only newscasts KTUL will have by themselves will be 6pm and 10pm Monday through Friday. All other newscasts will be KOKH. 5pm will be Hyper-local with Brenna anchoring a bit of news at the start of the broadcast then to OKC for news then weather from Tulsa. That’s coming from the chief photographer at KTUL I was talking with him last week at my radio remote and he was there getting video.
  14. They start broadcasting tonight (Sunday) at 10pm from the new building and studio.
  15. I have an update on the lay offs at KTUL. Joie Bettenhausen told me that they kept a handful of the MMJ’s, 4 production staff, a couple of producers, the entire meteorological staff (her, Colton Williams and Chief Chris Nunley), anchor Brenna Rose, both sports director TJ Eckert and weekend sports anchor and reporter Michelle Montaine and Sales. They only had 15 on air talent we know that KTUL main anchor of 27 years Mark Bradshaw is one of the laid off workers, along with Good Morning Oklahoma anchor Sunny Leigh and Live Desk anchor Tyler Butler and they (at least Sunny and Tyler will not sure about Mark) will all continue to work until the change December 11th.
  16. Basically. I really wish there was a company that would come in and buy KTUL but sadly I doubt that will happen.
  17. They kept all three meteorologist according to the Chief Meteorologist Chris Nunley.
  18. JHD group was the set designer
  19. The set makes its debut tomorrow morning.
  20. KTUL’s Chief Meteorologist Dan Threlkeld is retiring on the 29th of this month after 40 years of being a broadcast meteorologist. He helped cover the OKC bombing for KFOR as well as the May 3rd tornado that impacted Moore and Stroud. After leaving KFOR he joined KJRH as chief replacing Jeff Lazalier and was at 2 for 11 years before being replaced by Brett Anthony and after a few years off TV working for Oklahoma State University in Tulsa he made his return to news at KTUL helping them out when Mike Collier left to join 2 during the flooding in 2019 Dan ultimately became chief not to long after. His replacement is Dr. Chris Nunley formerly at KING 5 in Seattle.
  21. WWBT has the GrayOne graphics now.
  22. That’s correct KMBC uses the First Alert branding.
  23. KTVT CBS News Texas is apparently rebranding once again and dropping News from the name. They are also dropping the 6pm newscast and adding a 7pm newscast on KXTA all starting September 11th. https://www.ftvlive.com/sqsp-test/2023/8/27/cbs-oampo-ditches-6pm-newscast
  24. And now WMBF News has the GrayONE graphics.
