Let’s just say it’s just as bad as we knew it would be. I really hate this I wish they’d go back to the traditional newscast and the News Channel 8 branding and logo.

This is all KTUL is saying as of now but according to Emily who was laid off from KTUL they along with FOX23 will be more reporting based then anchoring this will start May 18th which means that’s all this week I believe FOX23 will simulcast on both 23 and 8 as they have done on weekends while training is going on this week. Tonight is KTUL’s last night on Lookout Mountain most staff has moved to KOKI’s studios with at least 3 more moving after tonight.

Update for KTUL/KOKI. Joie Bettenhausen at 8 said she went over the weekend to look at the FOX23 studios and that she is going to be recording multiple cooking with Joie segments because they don’t have a kitchen set at 23 as they prep for the move. She is moving over and sounds like she will be weekends over there just unknown if it will be mornings or the evenings. Also seems like all reporters are also moving but haven’t heard if Brenna Rose who anchors the weekday evenings will be moving.

KJRH has been running promos for two months and hasn’t swapped yet when I asked they said it was coming but didn’t have a definitive date as to when it would be done. So don’t get hopes up on WTKR getting them right away.

Well as of this weekend KOKI has taken over KTUL’s weekend newscast from KOKH in OKC. But KOKH is still handling weekday mornings.

KTUL had a 5pm and 6pm show but FOX23’s 10pm is on ABC and FOX here in Tulsa, but having been running their promos as normal during breaks. After watching the beginning of the newscast FOX23 said that there was technical difficulties at KTUL so they stepped up to air the newscast on the sister station.

They claim they hired multiple people from WRTV….

I doubt Nexstar would sell their CW station.

I don’t have a full confirmation of this but I’m guessing KTUL NewsChannel 8 is moving from their long time home on top of Lookout Mountain to KOKI FOX23’s studios this weekend. The reason I say this is former weekend sports anchor and sports reporter Ruben Diaz posted that he hated hearing the news coming out of Tulsa on his old station.

Actually the ticker and lower 3rd is apart of the first FOX graphics that Nexstar released.

Not sure but from what I’ve seen on YouTube the set is similar to WPVI and WABC without being a carbon copy.

KJRH has been running promos with the new graphics but as of now the newscasts remain on the old graphics. Sorry I didn’t get the whole promo by the time I saw it this was all I could get at the time. IMG_0088.mov

I think they may eventually make Zollener Media (old cox radio) leave the building and redo the space to make it bigger. Zollener has an office building that he may move the radio stations into if he needs.

Sunny Leigh has released a statement from her attorney saying that her bosses were forced to terminate her contract she asked if was Sinclair’s doing in which the bosses said they didn’t know what was going on they had been trying to contact Ricon and was being ignored 4 days later was when it was announced that Sinclair was taking over FOX23 and will be merging them and KTUL. She is now looking at adding retaliation and retribution onto the lawsuit she and former KTUL anchor Mark Bradshaw already had out for the age discrimination. She has a full length post that I won’t share because it’s way to long for screenshots.

They have had it for a week or so now. But I wish Scripps would hurry and roll them out to all the others.

Only 5-7am, 11am newscast and part of the 5pm. KTUL deals with the 6 and 10pm on their own with the small staff that is still there.

I have an idea but we all know they won’t do it this way… split the broadcasts have 8 do 5-7am, 5,6,10pm while 23 does 7-9am,5:30,6:30, and 9pm (hour long) and have both stations air an 11am together. If I had the money and was owning both of them that’s how I would do it.

Well that’s just great….. not. Makes me wonder how they will do the newscasts for them both once they merge.
