Not sure how we missed this but KWTV is launching a 9am newscast (competing against KOCO for news in that timeslot) beginning January 18th:

But the changes doesn't stop there and I'll share more details in the 2020 syndication news thread once I find the link to it.

I can tell you they dropped Live with Kelly and Ryan for the 9AM newscast they didn't renew the contract to air them on KWTV.

WWL morning meteorologist Dave Nusbaum is headed to Birmingham. He gave his last weathercast Christmas Eve. He didn't say when he will start nor what station he's going to, but said he will work the same shift he worked at Channel 4.

He's going to CBS42 starts after the new year. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cbs42.com/news/local/cbs-42-announces-dave-nussbaum-as-newest-member-of-cbs-42-storm-team/amp/

Today is the last day for KCTV meteorologist Brett Anthony who is leaving to become Chief Meteorologist at KYTX. Brett previously worked at KSHB and at KJRH in Tulsa before returning to Kansas City.

Glad to see him get a chief position again I've been friends with him for a while when he was at KJRH I hate how they screwed him out of the station.

I guess both ladies (at least Jackie) have been transferred to another division in the company (Sinclair)...

Jackie is joining Sinclair after being with CoxMedia.

  5. Maureen Wurtz from KTUL and Jackie DelPelar from KOKI have left their stations here in Tulsa Oklahoma.  Jackie is heading to Nashville joining FOX17 as for Maureen she hasn't announced just yet where she will go.  Maureen said in her post on Facebook that she made the decision on New Years that 2020 would be her last year in Oklahoma.

Sad to hear. Travis was a terrific reporter at KATC (both during his initial time there and recently helping out during coverage of Hurricanes Laura and Delta), and I think KJRH was lucky to have him. Huge mistake on KJRH's part in letting him go.......

I agree worst mistake on KJRH's end but that's always how they have been as you can tell by how they kicked out Jeff Lazalier, Dan Threlkeld, and Brett Anthony.

Finally. Is that everyone now? I always thought they poorly implemented the V2 look.

    Actually looks pretty decent.

Virtual set, let's be clear. The only real thing in their studio is the old weather center and I believe the desk. The news fantasy part of my mind was hoping Scripps would give them some real digs, but the chroma studio lives on.

I absolutely hate the virtual set look.

What a terrible drone shot to use. For a mid-tier US city the Tulsa skyline is actually pretty interesting, and they decided to use a shot that cuts off the top of the BOK building?

Hopefully you will like this picture they used for the open for 6pm.

Maybe this is a struggling station. It cancelled it weekend morning newscast in 2017, has poor talent and ratings the ratings are sour. They have newscast that are poor quality Former ABC 11 Sports anchor Drew Smith anchors there but it sucks poor newscast quality and set quality. They might need it to hype viewers and get ratings,

The set is kinda like KSHB and WCPO sets.

Check the cuts from KJRH posted earlier in this thread. They’re the only NBC station I’ve heard using it. And if you watch their newscasts now, it sounds like they aren’t using them anymore.

They aren't they are just using what was already made for Scripps.
