Our good friends over at The Other Site have the new open, and speaking of new music... CBS is bringing back the music from '87, albeit slightly remixed.

It would not surprise me if they do new music with the CBS 5-note mnemonic.

Anyways... let's get back on topic...

To be honest, I take anything FTVLive says with a grain of salt.

And I'm getting tired of people beating a dead horse here. I know a lot of you don't think NN will succeed (and I understand that), but the more it gets talked about not succeeding; it gets pretty boring. And part of the reason why stuff like In The Heat Of The Night are still airing is because they're trying to burn off the syndication rights; and a lot of the breaking news stuff that happens, they're trying to rely on the website, YouTube, or Nexstar's affiliates for it because of the shows like In The Heat Of The Night.

It is sad knowing that they're stuck on the blue screen set (because the Paramount+ sports show took over that side of the old studio); but to be honest, I still don't mind the show being pre-recorded. Excluding people like us, no one would've really payed attention to the switch from live to not over the past 2 years.

Having watched videos on YouTube and NewsON, more of the Tegna stations have also received the updates over the past few months.

I don't know why; but I feel like with the current Gray graphics packages, WAVE and KGMB/KHNL have the best implementations of them so far.

Globo has been using that piece of music for Plantão since 1991; kinda like how NBC News has been using the same piece as Meet The Press for its special reports..

Yeah, the V of Doom never scared me as a kid (whether I was 3 or 8 years old) when watching old shows like Andy Griffith or Gilligan's Island on TV Land or Retro TV.

Wow. If that’s true, then all of the Cox stations would gain sister stations. To be honest, I wonder what WPXI would do gaining some more sister stations in NY, OH, and PA.

Dude. My great-grandfather and my grandfather, who were both respected journalists (the latter for the Pittsburgh Press and Post-Gazette) would be rolling in their graves with what you're saying. Just because NewsNation doesn't get good ratings doesn't mean it has a good viewer base from those who go on the website or watch Nexstar affiliates (hi, I'm one of those people). But in all seriousness, I know NewsNation has ratings in the tens of thousands; but saying a year after Prime premiered (when it was still 3 hours) that its a huge failure is ridiculous. There were probably people who though Fox News, MSNBC, CNN, Newsmax, or even CBSN wouldn't work; and yet they have.

Sir... no more slander on this here forum please. We're a divided nation as is, and you need to really see that ratings are truly a thing of the past because of streaming and YouTube. Plus, there are people in Waukesha and across the nation who are hurting and mourning, so stop.

You guys really don't want NewsNation to succeed, do you? Like, I get the ratings on TV aren't great, but look at the YouTube views (and potentially the recordings people may have made on Hulu or YouTube TV); not to mention how many hits the app and website have.

It does seem a bit odd, that tweet. But anyways, with all of the negative opinions of NewsNation on here... it seems like a lot of you just want to keep the blinders on. Just give Nexstar a break.

CBSN will be renamed as CBS News; but I will still call it CBSN for short, since we've always known it by that name.

Nexstar is waiting for syndication rights on the shows and movies to run out, which could be a while. That's why its taking so long for shows like In The Heat of the Night to stop airing.

I noticed that too. And it’s a pleasant change to have the logo bug on the left side of the screen rather than the right.

So far, they have kept the graphics clean, with a narrow version of the TT Norms font for the Lower Thirds. As I can see on the KDKA version of the ticker bar, there is a modified version of the KDKA logo in between the time/temperature and ticker.

That or they'll decide to give CBSN its own dedicated set (or tear down the wall and expand the Studio 57 Newsroom).

To be honest, I'll take anything FTV Live says with a grain of salt. On the other hand, to know that Gayle is still there on CTM after 9 years amazes me.
