Is it known who will replace Jim on the 11am and 4pm news?
Forgot to follow up on this! Marie has been going solo the last few months at 4 with the shot established across from the desk. (Similar to the shots in studio B)

This seems like a vanity project, just to stick it to his former station.
Who knows. The 2020s has been a lot of stick it to the former station.

They should keep the opinions to a minimum and focus on news.
That pretty much failed in night one based on what viewers were seeing

Not at this time. So far we’ve seen Marie go solo on the 11, and Joe alongside her at 4.

I prefer Greg over Cheryl Scott. She has never impressed me, despite her being there longer.
Agreed. Never could warm up to her… Still dull and bland.

Agreed. I do wonder what will become of the big moveable video monitor that was used as a divider. Seems like such an expensive unit to never use again (…not that it was used often to begin with).
Here’s a better look of the window setup. I like the big desk and decorative screen (despite it covering the view).
Honestly, I like this desk!

Many things not only just the fact that Mark bounce apparently due to some other things back in 94, despite he didn’t want to leave.
Other things to note:
Then you had his replacement, Jon Kelley who was disliked by many.
Adamle leaving for CBS 2, after Tim Weigel's passing, only to return in 04, and forced to retire in 2017.
The passings of Darian Chapman in 2002 and Daryl Hawks 9 years later.
Ryan Baker only to leave for CBS 2 as well. The list goes on.

And with so many changes happening at 2, they’ve quietly dropped their 4:30am half of the morning newscast which has been part of the morning show since it was reinstated back in 2010.

Having the blinds drawn all the time defeats the purpose of the thing…
They only open them when shows aren’t going on. I’ve passed by there during times between noon and 4.

WMAQ had their own streetside studios the worst you got was the occasional drunk who might provide some midnight color commentary.
Actually a window got damaged at Studio 5 in 2012 by their entrance at 401.

What is studio 32?
Studio 32 is or was the studio upstairs at the WFLD offices & studios that faces towards Michigan Ave & Lake Street. Became the title during Covid.

The 20th anniversary of the debut of the streetside studio is in 2026 (I believe).
April 10th, 2026 yes. Even though the pre-release was April 8th, 2006 the complete debut was 4-10.

Initially 4:30-7a yes with Kristen Nichole and Anthony Ponce before she was reassigned in 2019 when Rafer and Roseanne took on the role.

Nothing official from what I've seen, but Evrod Cassimy has been anchoring weekday mornings with Michelle for the past few weeks, including this week and I seems JC Navarrete has been demoted to general assignment reporter for the afternoon newscasts. Good for Evrod, he is a strong anchor and a needed boost for the morning news.
He’s got a fun personality on the air. Especially with the recent story they did yesterday and was singing one of GloRilla's songs!
