  1. Mark is having a field day on Twitter. He already addressed that he was going to just live life (in an interview). If he does ever make a comeback into the biz he’ll reveal it. In all honesty he didn’t wanna leave NBC 5 all those years ago, knowing he was leaving his colleagues/friends.

Im sure this is temporary until her contract is up.

The station is too cheap for two mets.

Last time WBBM had two meteorologists during the afternoon/evening hrs was back when the news at 4 existed (03-05)

Robb was already slighted when he got passed over for the morning slot. Mary Kay had been serving weeknights for almost 4 years. Hell, she even made it into promos with the other 3 late anchors, when Ryan Baker was still on sports.

Or Robb probably passed on that offer when he was filling in during those 10 months. On air personalities have personal lives they wanna tend to ya know..

Slap in the face to Robb Ellis and yes Brads days are probably limited . Will likely be replaced by Rob Nelson considering NewsNation was a flop and he came from WABC.

Rob Nelson already accepted a job at Newsy in ATL late last month..

I freaking knew it. The way that the network discontinued weeknight weather segments and dumped him off to the weekends was surely NOT what Albert signed up for a year ago. The minute they gave the weekday morning position to Gerard and not Albert, I figured Albert would not be long for NewsNation. The only thing that surprised me was that it came so soon, after only working one weekend (this past weekend). Hopefully this means he was able to secure another job somewhere. Best of luck to him, and hopefully the next place that hires him actually lets him stay in the position for which he was hired for more than one year.

Albert has now jumped over to CBS 2 Chicago

Didn’t Rob used to anchor in the mornings before anchoring the 4:30pm? I think mornings he was replaced by Stefan is what was being referenced.

Yes he did anchor mornings with Zoraida, before then he was weekend mornings with Ellee Pai Hong and Anita Padilla

Elizabeth Matthews has been anchoring weekend mornings since Sally Schulze got promoted, but has never been officially named to the position, to my knowledge. That said, the station has never been particularly stable, so it could be for any daypart. Who knows?

As for the weather situation, this is one helluva kick in the pants to all 3 other meteorologists on staff, plus Tim McGill.

    Lansing? Are you kidding?

I was already told a few months back  that Mike Caplan didn’t want the evening position.

Wild prediction based on no background knowledge of anyone's intentions...

After his exit from NewsNation last week, Rob Nelson joins the station as a weekday anchor by the end of the year.

Jen hired him for primetime, and he uprooted his life to come here only a year ago. I can't think of any other high-profile on-air exits, but why not keep them in the mix, too?

The last time a WGN boss went to CBS2, ND Carol Fowler brought along Roseanne Tellez, Randy Salerno, Joanie Lum, and others. Doubt anyone at WGN-TV would make that mistake, again, if they're comfortable at Bradley Place.

And lets not forget the surviving one Dana Kozlov!

Appears WBBM is launching 4pm news soon. Every station in Chicago will now have news at 4pm.

Again?! Let’s see, the last to anchor CBS 2 news at 4p was Mary-Ann Childers and Derrick Blakley, which Blakley had came from NBC 5.

TVNewsCheck is reporting that Tonya Francisco and Amy Rutledge will be the hosts of the new Daytime Chicago show.

This means Amy Rutledge comes back to WGN after being co-host of now cancelled "The Jam" on WCIU. It also means that someone will have to take over Tonya's weekend morning position unless they decided to go solo.

Nexstar actually posted the weekend morning anchor position in the careers category

Change what? Everything in that studio has been replaced multiple times in 9 years, except for the desk, which I agree could be switched out, but not if they go the standup lucite desk like WNBC. In that case, I'd keep what they have.

Oh, and 5 years just isn't accurate. They're on the clock alongside all NBC stations, in-line with the summer Olympic schedule.

If you take a look at all of WMAQ's opens in the last two decades, it normally changes every 5-7 years. The other change I feel is needed is the desk mainly.

  12. Looks like Yasmeen Hassan is out from CBS 2.  I took a look at the station site and her bio is no longer there nor is her username on the morning news ticker tape (Bottom Of Screen) is shown.

Sylvia did the Noon show from Studio 32 (instead of the main studio) today. Likely some work is being done in the main studio.

Also, this OTS is pretty cool and I think the first time they have used it (first time I’ve seen it anyway).

I just realized the desk was from downstairs! Good thing it’s still in use.
