A lot of shade is coming to light. I was thinking the GM was trying to just cover it up, before outside sources (Feder) started to bring it out. IMO I wonder how people would've reacted to this if MG had said that to former anchor Diann Burns during her tenure at WLS.

And I'm saying hoping Caplan gets the spot because we all know how viewers get outraged when an "Out of Towner" is hired to a Chicago station.

Let's see what they do. (Hoping Caplan gets the spot)

Steve Dolinsky has announced that he's leaving.

As long as the bosses don't tamper with the music even the main "WGN News" Breaking News Theme cut from '97, even though 615's "Chicago's Very Own" is 13 years old.

Indeed. It's not determined to be permanent but I think it will be because the WBBM newsroom was otherwise drab and not indicative of a particular bureau for global viewing purposes.
The curtains are just blinds for the windows in the newsroom. They somewhat are still slightly seen.

I have no exclusive source for a scoop other than their agent page but WFAA's recently departed Marie Saavedra will be joining WBBM as an anchor/reporter. Expecting a possible switch-up/replacement (....or (shock) a possible expansion!) in the anchor teams at CBS 2.

I'm trying to figure out why the afternoon theme wasn't in the 11:30 open from 1993

This isn't cobbled together? The afternoon theme on a 10pm open, anchored by Judy Hsu?
Rob Johnson and Judy Hsu were filling in for Ron and Diann, it was a Friday night so Judy wasn't anchoring her morning shift that day. I'm surprised it wasn't the royal WLS-TV evening theme.

I remember being an infant and recognizing the colors of this talent bump back in the day! Took years to find this!

Re: Mugo -- Suzanne is now out on medical leave until this fall and Mugo stepped in yesterday & today, so these doors could definitely open up for her someday.
And I of course recently made a Mugo Odigwe edit, however it will not upload due to the large file....

This is 3 days late, but re: Vince Gerasole leaving, here's the tribute post from CBS 2: https://chicago.cbslocal.com/2020/08/14/vince-gerasole-signs-off-today-at-cbs-2-here-are-some-of-his-favorite-stories/
Vince also really looked up to Pam Zekman (from being her intern, then being awestruck at actually being able to become her colleague, then setting up an online virtual tribute for her after her unceremonious lay-off) and it almost seems fitting to ride off into the sunset in the same (sort of) time frame.
With Erin gone, it's ultimately a smaller morning team, since the breaking news and traffic roles have been combined -- which is a win for the bean counters of course. I also don't think execs want to do away with a traffic anchor in Chi, so ultimately, Yasmeen makes for the best overall morning pseudo-anchor / fill-in anchor they have at the moment without also commanding a large budget (just my speculation), since she's relatively new and still doing traffic like she was at KOVR. For Mugo, I personally think she has potential to move into an anchor chair sometime in the future (maybe weekend mornings if/when Suzanne retires/leaves?) / set for bigger things.
Speaking of "nonstop news," as you referenced, here's a throwback [https://www.newscaststudio.com/2019/03/08/cbs-2-chicago-nonstop-news/] about that segment that really highlights how much turnover there's been at CBS 2 in just ~1.5 years.
I've got a few "NonStop News" uploads on my YouTube channel from around the time Erin was back from maternity leave. In addition to that, I've also edited a "6:52" compilation where the anchors were next to the desk, which is pretty short but better than nothing

So many see lately Yasmeen has been in the newsroom following the breaking stories, which was originally Audrina's role. I just don't know if it seems right. Since Kennedy and Glaros were laid off, we all know that morning show hasn't been the same. I honestly think Mugo Odigwe would be a better fit for the position.

So, in the end, she is an actual part of the morning team, as a contributing anchor.
Yeah originally as Breaking News Anchor (Which was a promotion I guess she reconsidered).

Terrell is expected to be back in Chicago next week according to his Facebook page.

By my count Rivera is only 28 (went to school with my best friend's wife, same grad class). He seems to be on a good track. One thing I picked up on in the last few months are his mannerisms. Dead ringer for Krashesky.
As for Stacey, I agree that she's a little extreme in her light and serious delivery, but I think she does the former better than Jordan and the latter better than Burton.
Alan might be in the dead ringer because of Kathy's departure from ABC 7. Besides he's worked alongside 4 women co-anchors in the last 28/35 years and his consecutive one was KB it could be a probable cause

Erin Kennedy was laid off last May just 3 months after she came back from Maternity leave.
Thats why Audrina Bigos has been anchoring the past year.
