  1. That too. Also, if Tegna is taking over creative services of these stations (they should), then I would hope to see MCTYW back on WPXI.
  2. Not happening. The FCC will see this and force Apollo to divest one of them to a seperate, unrelated owner. They'll divest WXIA.
  3. Raycom's First Alert News was a big hit. Now we have First Alert Weather to match!
  4. Two reasons: 1. WLKY uses Strive 2. CBS Local has been used on non-CBS affiliates before
  5. You would've thought they would drop The Rock for something different. I think CBS Local might've worked. The new logo on the standard Gray website banner is atrocious. Change the colour of the logo, now.
  6. How could they be that cheap?? Again, this station is not worth your time. Watch WRAL or WTVD instead.
  7. See the "WFLA, but even cheaper" vibe here, and you can see why this station is such an easy divestiture option should Nexstar end up buying The CW.
  8. And WNCN has launched their 4:00 pm newscast. No more temperature, just time. The open seems to be some in-house modifications of the generic Nexstar CBS open. New VO, but I can't tell who. CBS Local remains, but now they're using the same cuts as WKYT.
  9. Not to mention that there are large market CW affiliates that run newscasts produced by independents (WLVI) or have a standalone news operation (WPIX). WPIX is operated by Nexstar, so NewsNation at 10pm is a no-go if they want to compete with Fox affilates running newscasts at the same time.
  10. Nice info there, but to clarify, I wasn't talking about market rollout. Rather, I was talking about packages released overall. Artists can get inspiration for their new packages from anywhere in the world.
  11. Yikes. They could have learned from their previous look to not do L3's this way. It just doesn't look good.
  12. The KOIN package launched in September of 2019 whereas the WSMV "Gray" look launched in March of 2020 alongside In Sink V.6. However, the time/temp bug on the WSMV look is reused from the WFTV package, which was released way back in 2016.
  13. Not happening. They’re done gobbling up full power stations, and they even mentioned it. Should a Democratic Party-led FCC eliminate the UHF discount again, the only protection Nexstar has against this is easy divestitures like WDTN. If they simply move their stations to Mission, that’s cause for an investigation.
  14. Or they could buy an existing LP and build an O&O from scratch.
  15. I see elements of the WAVE look in here but I can't make out any in-house graphics.
  16. ATSC 3.0 and Univision/Telemundo are saying hi. In the ATSC 3.0 case, WJHG would become the host, keeping the 1.0 channels on W31EP-D
  17. The More You Know....thanks @Adam MadMan! And bye-bye, Litton Entertainment.
  18. KPTV was the nation’s first commercial UHF station. They’re now returning to UHF. And on an unrelated note, WJLP’s MeTV signal has been upgraded to 720p. The Get After It trash remains.
  19. The sad part is that NBC pretty much doesn't like Sinclair, but if they attempt to disaffiliate from these stations a la WHDH, it might cause massive confusion. So NBC is stuck with Sinclair.
  20. And I checked their website. New logo, new masthead, but no new Nexstar website. What. A. Shame. I'm also shocked that Fox46.com is retained.
  21. They modified WCPO's colour scheme and the L3's look an awful lot like WLWT. Why wouldn't you be confused?
  22. First. Fair. Everywhere. At least Beau Weaver has a more unique voice.
  23. And the first show is on Studio 31 Media Archive (thanks @sanewsguy). Beyond has been dropped for production music. Steve Kamer and Beau Weaver have been retained as VOs (WJZY has two!). WJZY is the first station to decommission the Fox O&O look in favour of a custom version of the Nexstar Fox look, FOX-G. IMO, that’s a downgrade, but the ticker is now removed.
  24. IMO, The Hill would be a good branding for CW network newscasts and is a stronger brand compared to NewsNation.
