Does anyone know why the stations chose Jan 5 for the premiere? Jan 9 would be better start date since it's a new work week. It would be better for their promos, with the 9s.

It's official. The station posted an article of them retiring. I hope they give a send off for them after all the years. I been watching the station since the early 90s and will miss them.

News articles said there were possible additional layoffs at Nbc4. Does anyone know if any other fiull time reporters were laid off and how about freelancers?

I believe Kcal starts their morning news on Dec 12. I saw the listing on zap2it.

I believe Michael Brownlee or Robert Kovacik will be promoted to be anchor at 11PM with Colleen Williams. I hope Ted Chen gets promoted to being an anchor. He did a good job when he was anchoring weekend TODAY in LA editions a few years ago.

Will they have a farewell news segment for the news veterans? They made such a big deal when Paul Moyer got laid off and the station was not on best of terms with him when they did that. He was at a golf course, while Colleen and Chuck were trying to give him a send off.
