  1. They must be getting the triangle diagrid graphics in the next few months. Meanwhile, the new websites are definitely a huge improvement.
  2. Was this entire operation built from the ground up, or was their already existing staff?
  3. According to the 9am newscast on WANF and this article from WSFA, the games will also air on stations throughout Alabama. The article still does not specify were the games will air on stations in Birmingham, Huntsville and Mobile. After doing some digging, I have discovered that the games will air on what ever subchannel that The 365 is on.
  4. This does not surprise me one bit. Especially since many don't even understand the difference between the two, other than the fact that they are both just football in the spring or summer.
  5. Are you suggesting a KCAL vs. KCBS type situation here? If you are, I like it!
  6. They'll probably switch in the new year. Additionally I think we'll see alot of stations getting GrayONEd once fresh content enters the primetime schedule. (Late January into February with the super bowl (CBS Affiliates))
  7. This new sports network could be for any or all Gray stations, it is just another possibility.
  8. WAFF updated their "card" (just Xfinity as of 10:35 PM EST 12/26) NEW/Xfinity Only OLD/They have yet to update their card on their website or Vuit, etc. Its possible it has also been updated elsewhere.
  9. I didn't realize WAFF was using the third music cut until August, or did the just start using it again?
  10. Yes, I do, and this is just based off of scrolling thru Wikipedia, not firsthand knowledge.
  11. That brings me to this: As many of you know WAFF has been using two different packages; The Rock & Inergy. You can now add a third to that list, its either production music or a cut of Stream (please correct me if i am wrong, this has been driving me crazy for months). My evidence is below Screen_Recording_20231207_124614_VUit.mp4
  12. Along with removing the peacock, is Gray removing any music containing the NBC Chimes?
  13. WAAY Hires Rob Sneed as Weekend Anchor, Managing Editor and Reporter This is an interesting move. Sneed previously was at WGN, a respected station in Chicago, is now working weekends at the third place station in Huntsville, AL.
  14. Could that mean CBS News finally becoming a top player? Possibly, but not likely.
  15. Can't believe I didn't think about this before, but perhaps their software has yet to be updated so they changed the graphics to something that was similar so it is less stark of a change when they do get GrayONE.
  16. Its entirely possible that there's now two version of GrayONE, with version A being what we have seen with WAFF, KMOV, WCSC, etc and version B being what we are seeing on KNOP and KNSB. Other than the ticker and font there certainly are similarities between the two. Its possible there test alternative packages in smaller markets. Additionally, this could be an alternative to be primarily used by ABC affiliates, but optional for others.
  17. I dont think that 21Alive had the ABC logo since the rebrand, but I am not entirely sure, on their VUit page there's no logo present.
  18. On the opposite side of the spectrum their is WVUE in New Orleans, where the O in the FOX logo seems to be adjusted for local branding: (how did FOX even let them do that in the first place)
  19. In retransmission consent squabbles, who is the bad guy the provider (cable, satellite, etc.) or the station group owner? Who's holding out (in this context)?
  20. While I would interested to see what CBS might come up with, I think it would be a shot in the foot for them. All of their weekday newscasts get third/last-place in viewers, odds are this wouldn't be any different. The only way for it to work is if they were to have it run right after the morning game show block, which is where I think they could get the most viewers who just did not change the channel (I am in my tweenties, and whenever i was sick I'd watch the game shows), plus they'd have have to figure out which talent to use to anchor it, but I'll leave that for another post. Also, at this point should this thread be renamed to something like "Midday Network News"
  21. ABC afilliates? Have any stations that are primarily* ABC affiliates made the switch the Grayone yet? *(KGNS has an ABC affiliation on a sub channel, but is primarily NBC so I am not counting it)
  22. Yes, that story could definitely have been written better. There has been a lot of criticism of the Clayton County Sheriffs office recently, its hard to explain the situation, so I left a few links below if anyone is interested. https://www.wsbtv.com/news/local/former-sheriff-victor-hill-must-report-federal-prison-by-this-afternoon/CY2FIXOSGNGGZNSDJ3DOUVJEIA/ https://www.cnn.com/2023/06/21/us/terry-thurmond-inmate-death-investigation-georgia/index.html
  23. Not so fast, only the noon newscast uses that open, these are the opens for a few of the others.
  24. The second two hours of Daily came from Los Angeles, on the set used by Stay Tuned, her are some screen grabs: In contrast, the first two hours came from NY from the usual set.
