In the midst of almost last week, KIVI switched their 2nd digital sub-channel to an independent sub-channel, moving Laff (the channel previously occupying the .2 sub-channel) to the .5 subchannel, replacing getTV. Its semi-satellite, KSAW-LD, did the same.

Eight CBS Stations to Ditch CW and Go Independent This Fall
CoopInTheHouse replied to AKA's topic in General TV
I’m surprised that just a few TV stations air minor league sports these days, and there may be a lot of them. And now a list of Triple-A minor league baseball teams on TV stations (or cable channels, or internet services). 1. The Indianapolis Indians aired 35 games on WISH-TV during the 2021 season. 2. Starting this year, select Buffalo Bisons games air on WNYO-TV (MyTV Buffalo). The Bisons were previously on WNYB, now an affiliate of TCT (1988-1989, 1996), and WNLO, CW 23 (2019-2022). 3. Select Durham Bulls home games are televised on WRAZ 50.2 (MeTV), and every home game is broadcast on WRAL Sports+. 4. The Lehigh Valley IronPigs air games on WYLN-CD (YTA TV) and its translators (W09DB and W36EY), and WFMZ 69. 5. For the 2018 season ONLY, the Oklahoma City Dodgers aired select games locally on YurView Oklahoma (a weird public access cable channel thing) on Cox Cable Oklahoma channel 703 and simulcast on Cox digital HD channels 1333 and 1334, in case of scheduling conflicts with high school football. 6. On April 24th, 2014, the Sugar Land Skeeters (now the Space Cowboys) announced a deal with ESPN that allowed for all home games at Constellation Field to be exclusively broadcast on their internet channel ESPN3 for the 2014 season, a deal that was renewed for the 2015 and 2016 seasons. So there ain’t a lot of stations you can find these sports teams. Just hope WPSG does great at basketball. -
And as I mentioned in an earlier post, the Rockies may be at risk for that to happen. Either that or another one to throw into the Altitude Sports pile of garage sale items.. Edit: Just remembered I did that in another thread..

I legit realized after I posted it that the Diamondbacks already had that plan..
-
Well, they better find some station to do Diamondbacks baseball on, or else they’ll join the other rejects riding the MLB Local bandwagon.
-
So here’s your daily “What the Hell?”. After my local CW affiliate (KPTM-DT3) airs the weekly Thursday night football game (about 9:30pm, and tonight’s matchup as I am writing this, October 12th, is Hastings vs Ralston), they air an episode of iCrime to fill up the rest of the 9:00pm hour, followed by the CW primetime lineup from 10:00pm till midnight.. just why?

BREAKING: Warner Bros. Discovery Leaving RSN Business
CoopInTheHouse replied to Georgie56's topic in Sport Center
Now, how would that even be possible? MLB Network is a PAY TV channel, so it’d be near impossible to make a local version of the channel. -

AT&T SportsNet Rocky Mountain will close down at the end of the year; Full time employees are now laid off. The Rockies are considering new broadcast rights to Altitude Sports and Entertainment, or just air their games on public access/MLB.TV like the other rejects. The network is temporarily operating as SportsNet Rocky Mountain to last the rest of the year. Here’s the logo: -
Sinclair Broadcast Group - General Discussion
CoopInTheHouse replied to Smitha A's topic in Corporate Chat
Are.. are you seeing this? So for context, this is the new look KNIN (owned by Marquee Broadcasting, co-owned by Scripps) that doesn’t look like it should be. They used SINCLAIR. Oh, and it’s because the newscasts are now produced by KBOI, you guessed it, a Sinclair station. -
And since Nexstar owns The CW (partial stake), that deal was made for all CW stations, not just Nexstar-owned ones.

Couldn’t they just air it li- oh wait, they can’t because of after-GMA bullcrap standards.

WUPA has apparently kept Atlanta NOW News because of 2 reasons: 1. I think it’s for “good ratings”. 2. The same thing but mostly for the upcoming presidential election, in which Georgia has now became a key state.

REBRAND ALERT: KABB (FOX) in San Antonio, Texas has rebranded as FOX SA, with its slogan being Puro San Antonio, fitting with all cultures in the town. -
A Yuma full satellite station of KPHE-LD (Phoenix) has officially signed on as of today.

The Ever-Evolving Gray Graphics Situation...Thread
CoopInTheHouse replied to NEOMatrix's topic in Graphics
What’s weird is that I found in a video I watched explaining the WTOC change, they used one of the original cuts of Aerial (their new theme, replacing Overture), but then they switched to the OTHER ONE. Listen very carefully and you’ll know what I mean. -
Eight CBS Stations to Ditch CW and Go Independent This Fall

As part of that big switch just over 3 weeks ago, MyNetworkTV moves to WSNN-LD (Suncoast News Network), channel 39, airing it in primetime. WTTA still airs MyNetworkTV during the overnight hours (1:00am to 3:00am to be exact). -
Update from the Big O: The Equalizer goes to KMTV 3 (CBS), at midnight on Saturday nights. The Equalizer airs on CBS so no shocker here.
-
I would project that they do air Live at 9:00am because of pre-Hoda & Jenna standards (which was a pain if you were an NBC station employee because you’d be scrambling to fill the time once the fourth hour premiered).
-
WTAP in Parkersburg, West Virginia airs the first two hours of Today as normal, but they actually air Live with Kelly and Mark AFTER THAT. Another station that I can’t remember of airs the first, second, and third hours of Today as normal, but then they air Live with Kelly and Mark, and then surprisingly, they air PERSON, PLACE, OR THING AND PICTIONARY before airing Today with Hoda and Jenna.
-
WVIR (Charlottesville, VA) and WETM (Elmira, NY) also air Live with Kelly and Mark after the 3rd hour of Today.
-
Ok, but just.. why would you do that? Unbelievable scheduling. Before the debut of The National Desk, I know they placed it at 9 but just.. why 3? You could atleast join the PACIFIC feed (because The Price is Right is at 11/10c).

The legendary Tom Lyden is leaving FOX 9 KMSP after 30 years. Here’s the article.

It’s time for another “What the hell?” WJAR (an NBC affiliate) in Providence, RI airs the first, second, and third hours of Today at regular times, but inbetween, WJAR airs Live with Kelly and Mark at 10:00am (effectively joining the central time feed, despite the city being in eastern time), and then airs Today with Hoda and Jenna.
