  1. Ok, this is from a different thread, but well, I’m gonna post it anyway cause you’re not my mom and you can’t tell me what to do. Effective this coming Monday, KASW will ditch the CW and become independent. KNXV’s second sub-channel will take the CW.
  2. Heard they moved into a new studio too.
  3. A much needed improvement for the station! The station before was very low budget, and GrayONE is really helping that!
  4. Beloved TV news anchor Heidi Voight made her return to NBC Connecticut on Friday morning after recovery from the death of her mother, Claudia. Here’s the article.
  5. I am very surprised this is just one station and not every single nook-and-cranny station. Why are they doing this if it’s just one station?
  6. “On October 29th, WADL temporarily stopped carrying The CW Network. Late last week, you agreed to carry The CW without compensation and with knowledge of the above-referenced agreement and business relationship with Mission.” Apparently Kevin’s forgotten how a CONTRACT works.
  7. It’s a weird stuff-a-palooza! In all seriousness, why is Kevin Adell doing all of this. Cease and desist? To a TV STATION? Kevin’s gotta be scripting all this.
  8. CALLED IT! I FRICKIN CALLED IT! Nice plan for The CW though, as it seemed no other TV stations were available.
  9. REBRAND ALERT! WCTI in New Bern, North Carolina, as of today, has rebranded as News 12 Now, replacing News Channel 12. With the logo comes the current ABC logo, which WCTI had not updated their logo with up to this point.
  10. Yeah, I agree with you. NewsNation’s NEVER gonna go back to WGN America. Back to this CW-WADL disaffiliation thing, I think one of the best candidates would be WMYD BY FAR.
  11. Here’s what we need to figure out now. If Univision’s replaced by The CW, who’s getting Univision in Seattle?
  12. WHAT?? This is so unfair. No way two Gmail idiots just decided to do that. He also mentioned his car being broken, but it’s really sad because I always relied on Studio 31 for everything news. Let’s hope his journey successfully continues.
  13. SIKE! SportsNet Rocky Mountain actually closed down 2 weeks after I made that post (6 days ago).
  14. Paramount Global announced just over a week ago that Showtime’s sports division will shut down at the end of 2023, meaning that all sports content within the company, and any content that may air on Showtime will be expected to be produced by CBS Sports beginning in 2024. Showtime Sports launched in 1986 and has been known for its coverage of boxing (primarily under the Showtime Championship Boxing and ShoBox: The New Generation banners) and mixed martial arts (namely the Bellator MMA promotion) on both the Showtime network and pay-per-view.
  15. Two weeks ago, ESPN hockey analyst Barry Melrose announced he was stepping down from his role due to being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Melrose had been a popular part of ESPN’s NHL and collegiate hockey coverage since 1994.
  16. It’s also now on Wikipedia. An impressive move by KMVT and a great logo! Although, the bottom looks like standard GDG text.
  17. Morgan Murphy Media-owned CBS affiliate WKBT in La Crosse, Wisconsin has added Alexandra Carter to its morning and noon newscasts. Carter, raised in Canada, has worked at TV stations in Texas, Alabama, and Quincy, Illinois. For more, read this article.
  18. I gotta say, they’ve been using that logo in stations a whole lot lately, and I don’t think it’s stopping anytime soon. First there was KMCC, then KUPX, then KIVI-DT2 (plus its semi-satellite), and now this?
  19. In the midst of almost last week, KIVI switched their 2nd digital sub-channel to an independent sub-channel, moving Laff (the channel previously occupying the .2 sub-channel) to the .5 subchannel, replacing getTV. Its semi-satellite, KSAW-LD, did the same.
  20. I’m surprised that just a few TV stations air minor league sports these days, and there may be a lot of them. And now a list of Triple-A minor league baseball teams on TV stations (or cable channels, or internet services). 1. The Indianapolis Indians aired 35 games on WISH-TV during the 2021 season. 2. Starting this year, select Buffalo Bisons games air on WNYO-TV (MyTV Buffalo). The Bisons were previously on WNYB, now an affiliate of TCT (1988-1989, 1996), and WNLO, CW 23 (2019-2022). 3. Select Durham Bulls home games are televised on WRAZ 50.2 (MeTV), and every home game is broadcast on WRAL Sports+. 4. The Lehigh Valley IronPigs air games on WYLN-CD (YTA TV) and its translators (W09DB and W36EY), and WFMZ 69. 5. For the 2018 season ONLY, the Oklahoma City Dodgers aired select games locally on YurView Oklahoma (a weird public access cable channel thing) on Cox Cable Oklahoma channel 703 and simulcast on Cox digital HD channels 1333 and 1334, in case of scheduling conflicts with high school football. 6. On April 24th, 2014, the Sugar Land Skeeters (now the Space Cowboys) announced a deal with ESPN that allowed for all home games at Constellation Field to be exclusively broadcast on their internet channel ESPN3 for the 2014 season, a deal that was renewed for the 2015 and 2016 seasons. So there ain’t a lot of stations you can find these sports teams. Just hope WPSG does great at basketball.
  21. I’ve been thinking a lot about channel changes lately, and although TV stations have made some *ahem*… notable ones, cable TV is a true victim of this. So I’d like to discuss the changes and rebrands made with cable TV channels. Let’s start with CourtTV. Today it’s a semi-popular digital sub-channel network, but before New Year’s Day 2008, it was a bustling cable network, broadcasting live court trials occasionally. On July 11th, 2007, TimeWarner announced CourtTV would be replaced by TruTV on January 1st. The new brand was intended to focus more on action-oriented reality programming which did not necessarily involve crime and law enforcement. TruTV signed on at midnight on January 1st, and the rest is history. So what do you have to say? I swear, it ain’t just me who’s thought of this.
  22. The screen on the anchor desk looks like they’re using Nexstar’s basic CBS graphics, even though they’re not. Weird considering that it looks like that.
  23. And as I mentioned in an earlier post, the Rockies may be at risk for that to happen. Either that or another one to throw into the Altitude Sports pile of garage sale items.. Edit: Just remembered I did that in another thread..
  24. I legit realized after I posted it that the Diamondbacks already had that plan..
