  1. The NBC RSNs (and I'd assume the mothership as well since they're running essentially the same look and scorebug) have also added ABS pips.
  2. Yeah I think they've been running that since I wanna say 2004.
  3. Ridiculous? It's the same font used in various elements of the CFB/CBB iteration of this package. I agree though. I'd prefer this version with a lot more gloss and the team logos.
  4. Brian Mendoza left a few months ago. Gregorio was just a freelancer. Robert may be in the opens but for the 4 & 5PM shows he only works the first half hour. Britney and Justin have been splitting duty on the second half hours of those shows. Some days it's Britney, others it's Justin. Britney's also filled in for Bill Henley in the mornings.
  5. Just like when they used Roundball Rock for basketball coverage in the Summer Games.
  6. He's also the VO guy for his hometown Philadelphia Eagles' Radio Network. Maybe our recent success has lightened him up lol
  7. They seem to be testing a 20+ game season too (the 10-10 records)
  8. It appears all the newscasts got new opens: Interestingly enough the morning news didn't adopt the gold motif the rest of the morning show graphics use. Also this is the first time since back when WCAU was still a CBS O&O that they've had regular talent opens at the top of their newscasts. They did for a time in the 2000s have talent rejoins for the 11PM in voiceover only but other than you have to go back to the Newscenter 10 era.
  9. Opens now display the new station slogan:
  10. NBCSN now on Xfinity platforms: https://variety.com/2025/tv/news/nbc-sports-network-nbcsn-comcast-xfinity-tv-1236591554/
  11. The logo included in the release is familiar but if you have a sharp enough eye, it's actually quite different from the previous iteration. Obviously the Peacock is now the 2023 incarnation but the lettering has been shrunken a bit to match the style of the main network logo and the font itself is now NBC Tinker (the previous version used Gotham).
  12. That was Coverage You Can Count on. Big big difference!
  13. RIP Count on It; hello Coverage You Count on
  14. It looks a modded version of the RSN look is going to be the generic graphical look for NBC Sports going forward. This was seen during their coverage of the Track & Field Nationals on Sunday:
  15. NBCSN maybe rising from the dead with the NBA on the horizon: https://awfulannouncing.com/nbc/exploring-launch-sports-focused-cable-network-nbcsn.html
  16. That's a live camera. It's mounted atop the Adventure Aquarium in Camden. I don't mind traditional wall sets if done right and shot with creativity. From what I've seen so far, they've used some really interesting shots to present stories. I think a lot of times designers get caught up in creating depth that they end up with an overly busy set. Iirc the studios at the CTC are around 2500 sq ft a piece (there's three of them) so they aren't the biggest spaces but certainly not the smallest.
  17. Morning Show using a gold motif on the set and in the graphics. They did a walking tour of the set which I've gotten grabs of
  18. From the 4PM's 20 mins of Nonstop News. Segment revealing the new set is at the end of the block.
  19. There's already a thread in the Sets/Studios forum That said, Robert Johnson also debuted today.
  20. It was reported here a couple months ago WCAU's studios at the Comcast Technology Center suffered water damage with the sett having to be demolished. Today at 11AM they debuted a new set in the repaired studio: Watching the replay of the newscast on Peacock, there's a lot of elements that remind me of the NBC Sports RSN set. Like the set it replaces, a seamless 4K screen features as the backdrop behind the news desk. Weather is done in front an almost equally large touch screen. Not sure yet if there is a full weather set. We'll see. Update: so they can change the set colors on the fly. Also there's tons of standup pods around the studio. Finally my question about the weather center was answered. The one from the previous set actually survived and is behind the frosted glass the weather screen is mounted on. You can make it out when they pan in on the screen and you can also catch it in the timelapse.
  21. It's been finally announced the RSNs will be available on Peacock for an add on subscription (rate varies by market). https://www.nbcsportsphiladelphia.com/news/sports/stream-sixers-phillies-flyers-peacock/654941/
  22. I actually like CBS' scorebar. My only issue with it is they went away from TT Norms which is odd given how married the rest of the company's presentation is to it. It also seems like they're slowly adding elements to the overall on screen look to match it.
  23. Just look for the sweep on the map when they pull up the live radar.
  24. Interesting. They started the trend in this market going back to 4:30 and then 4. I wonder if the others will follow suit back to 5. I don't see 29 going back but 3 and 6 could definitely go back.
