SFTV 532 Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 You would think now that they moved the newsroom away from the studio, it'll give them more room to play around but nope, lame weather desk, 2 anchor desks and a couch set. They could've added a multi purpose area for other segments but I guess they prefer the cramped small backlot. Here's another view of the set. http://pbs.twimg.com/media/BXCPUFUCUAAL1e2.jpg#twimg

A3N 1002 Posted October 23, 2013 Author Posted October 23, 2013 I'm not complaining. Sure they could have done better, but given what they had, this new set is 10x better. You guys have to realize that KSWB is housed in a really small building, not really meant for a tv station. Hell, I would say that KSWB's building is probably half the size than KFMB's building down the street. So it's understandable that space is at a premium, and keep in mind that they have not needed as much space in the past, as they do now.
Bsean 152 Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 I knew those were screens behind the anchor desk. For this morning's special edition of the morning news, the monitors displayed some super bowl graphics instead of the normal blue. It didn't look that great, but why don't they ever put shots from the various skycams they use of they have the capability? Edit-I saw picture on the FOX 5 Facebook page and apparently they used green screen panels behind the anchor desk.
SFTV 532 Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 I agree it would look better with a video wall behind the anchors instead of the blue panels.
A3N 1002 Posted February 3, 2014 Author Posted February 3, 2014 There is another picture that they posted on their facebook wall today which shows the back panels light up... https://scontent-b-sjc.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/t31/1522943_10152221097644940_756833675_o.jpg Either way, It was probably too cost prohibitive to install a video wall behind the anchor desk.
1place4news 5 Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Either way, It was probably too cost prohibitive to install a video wall behind the anchor desk. That's a bit ironic given how cheap it would look. But yet it would look so much better than what it is now.
SFTV 532 Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 They're stuck in the 70s, might as well use a chroma key for the OTS shots if they are going to use a chroma key behind them lol
