IceManNYR 240 Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 Phil Lipof is reporting tonight on the 5pm broadcast. He comes from WHDH in Boston. Diana he would be working weekend mornings and some weekday reporting.
morningnewsfan 0 Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 I caught him this past Sunday anchoring with Lisa C. and he's pretty good, great sense of humor, seems like he has already established many friendships with colleagues, it looks good. Does anyone know when Michelle will be back to WABC? and Lauren DiFranco while were at it.
SuitSnob 19 Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 I think he is very charming and a great weekend anchor. Some of his field reporting has been a bit "Aw shucks" for the NYC Market, but he'll get jaded in no time!!!
Vlad 334 Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 He's good, looks like WABC made a great choice by hiring him. He has the right attitude everytime (knows when to be funny and knows when to be serious), I think he's a much better replacement of Charles Perez. -Vlad
SuitSnob 19 Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 So, is he the offiical weekend morning or evening anchor?
abc7 Man 52 Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 So, is he the offiical weekend morning or evening anchor? Weekend AM.... with Michelle Charlesworth (who is back from maternity leave). With all the subs and changes, maybe this is why they pushed off the new gfx and intros.
morningnewsfan 0 Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 Yup, Phil is very good. Don't get me started with Charles Perez. He was too unprofessional and to me is so bad that I wouldn't even want him on CBS2. He's always leaning all up on the newsdesk as if he's about to go to bed on it. I could tell, if you heard Sandra while he was there and the side comments she made, I know she didn't like him at all.
cbs2news 0 Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 Phil was filling in for Steve Bartlestein on Eyewitness News this Morning.
Vlad 334 Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 Phil was filling in for Steve Bartlestein on Eyewitness News this Morning. At the rate this is going Phil could replace Steve in the future. -Vlad
morningnewsfan 0 Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 Yeah. I've been enjoying him on Eyewitness News This Morning these past couple of days and it seem slike the whole crew is started to like him well. I wonder if that switch would ever be made...?

ryinthesky9 0 Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 I agree that Phil has done a good job, but Steve and Lori are great, and my guess is that the only way that he'd end up with the job is if Steve gets in trouble again.

Steve, better watch out, lol. But yeah, Lori and Steve are really great together, but it looks like Steve's contract has recently been renewed, so hes with the station as long as he doesn't get into anymore trouble. -Vlad
