Samantha 2902 Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Telemundo has a new graphics and music package for its local newscasts. The new graphics are those teased by some WSCV leaks. They are designed for a 16:9 frame. The music theme sounds like it could be another Cacharros theme... Once I get a recording I will send the theme to Victor Bencomo to see if he composed it. On KTAZ they also took the opportunity to go to a two presenter format adding Rebeka Diaz to the news team.

WNJU, WWSI and KVEA and another that I can't of atm have already launched this
Samantha 2902 Posted February 3, 2015 Author Posted February 3, 2015 Actually looks like most of the station group has, at least the O&Os, judging mostly by graphics. A couple of them I can't determine (KBLR, KVDA, WKAQ). Also KNSO is back under NBCU control after some years with ZGS (KVDA migrated also recently), and it too has adopted the new "blade" L3s — plus an NBCU station URL. This look has to be by Artworks. It strikes me in certain places as having their style. I must say the old one was getting a touch stale; this one is a little more exuberant, the L3s are a little more functional, and it shows how much Telemundo has its news act together.

WNEU is as well, apparently.
Samantha 2902 Posted February 3, 2015 Author Posted February 3, 2015 WNEU is as well, apparently. No surprise. When KVDA jumped in November it was a sign that NBC was getting the stations it had put on loan to ZGS back. KNSO needs some beefing up though.
WCAUTVNBC10 413 Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 This look has to be by Artworks. It strikes me in certain places as having their style. It is. It looks like they used KXAS' look as a base for this.
EHTVnews 21 Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 WKAQ is "maybe"getting the new graphics by looking at this video:
bostonmediaguy 124 Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 WNEU is as well, apparently. WNEU will soon have newscasts produced by NBC-owned New England Cable News.
Big Country News 435 Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 The new music sounds a lot like something Gari would compose.
rkolsen 1686 Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Are they the same as the ones I've mentioned in here? http://forums.tvnewstalk.net/index.php?/topic/14326-new-telemundo-graphics-package/ I will say I saw a clip thumbnail from WSNS and like some of you I thought it was adapted from Look F 2.0.

It is, I had kinda forgotten them. That said they were rolled out in a bunch of markets. I call this the "blade" look based on the shape of its L3s.
Amra 171 Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 With the old SCV theme, just for the hell of it:
Alain 17 Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 With the old SCV theme, just for the hell of it: LOL Screw that, seriously.. And confirmed, it is Artworks: http://vimeo.com/108936050
sanewsguy 514 Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 Yes KVDA has them: Surprisingly they kept their ZGS-era weather map: oh and the bug gets cut off slightly in SD. Argh...
Samantha 2902 Posted February 6, 2015 Author Posted February 6, 2015 About the bug, KTAZ has the full "Noticiero/Arizona" bar in the area to the right of the logo. It's WAY off in 4:3.

EHTVnews 21 Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 WKAQ debuted the new graphics today at 11am, rare cut they use for the open. http://www.telemundopr.com/telenoticias/ultimas-noticias/Telenoticias-se-renueva--291280681.html?m=y&smobile=y
Samantha 2902 Posted February 14, 2015 Author Posted February 14, 2015 KBLR is using the package, the last Telemundo O&O I needed to confirm was using it. This short video also shows the way KBLR (and KTAZ) have their bugs set up. The content of the video is also interesting: it's about the Rogers Foundation, as in the late James E. Rogers. Ironically KBLR produces its newscasts with significant technical help from KSNV (their studios are too small).
