tw-804 192
Here are St. Louis, Buffalo and Hampton Roads... In St. Louis, KTVI was the most-watched station in February... http://www.tribunemedia.com/?p=20375 http://www.tvnewscheck.com/marketshare/2015/03/04/february-2015-ratings-review-ktvi-st-louis/ ...meanwhile, KSDK (or as some Post-Dispatch commenters called it "KS-Decay" over the years) showed even greater losses while KMOV maintains its lead at 10pm: http://www.stltoday.com/entertainment/television/gail-pennington/winners-losers-in-st-louis-news-race/article_be6f7e78-d928-5493-8281-d9d101e5d3d7.html In Buffalo... WGRZ is still tops. "Channel 2 News at 10" on WUTV beat WNLO's "The Ten O' Clock News" thanks to its lead-in, "Empire". Demo ratings will arrive in mid-March. "Nightly News" - now with Lester Holt in the chair - continues to be #1 in Buffalo. http://talkintv.buffalonews.com/2015/02/26/ch-2-news-wins-february-sweeps-period-ch-4-asterisk/ http://talkintv.buffalonews.com/2015/03/04/nbc-nightly-news-remains-strong-no-1-lester-holt-anchor-seat/ In Hampton Roads, WAVY won all the main newscasts and was up 34% at 5pm & 22% at 6pm. http://www.ftvlive.com/todays-news/2015/3/1/sweeping-up-in-the-hampton-roads Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/14240-february-2015-sweeps-results/page/4/#findComment-124678 Share on other sites

tw-804 192
In New Orleans, WWL is still the ratings powerhouse. "NBC Nightly News" on WDSU beat "CBS Evening News" on WWL 9.4-9.0. http://www.nola.com/tv/index.ssf/2015/03/february_sweeps_news_ratings_r.html#incart_river Meanwhile up the Mississippi River, Memphis' WREG is number-one morning to night. http://www.tribunemedia.com/?p=20366 Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/14240-february-2015-sweeps-results/page/4/#findComment-124683 Share on other sites

swillh2k2 203
Just an FYI on this. Whenever sweeps results are posted on here, they're usually from a station/stations or from the local TV critic or reporter. There's no secret stash of results lying around somewhere. Some are made public, some aren't. For example, here in Charleston, I haven't seen any sweeps results from the local paper (but can almost guarantee that WCSC won, followed by WCBD and WCIV, because that's how it's been for a while). Depends on where they obtain the ratings. The only people who have access to the ratings are Nielsen and the TV stations. So the newspaper reporter is obtaining them from one of the TV stations. Here, Jeanne Jakle from the Express-News is buddy buddy with David Cuccio (KSAT's CSD) so he gives her the ratings report. If a TV station doesn't put out a press release or shares them with a reporter, then we're left out in the dark with it. patsx3 17
IIRC the single anchor experiment at WBZ weekday mornings ended quick. Even they got the memo it was foolish. Single anchors all weekend looks foolish, Boston isn't say Albany. It seems that they're under some sort of delusion that it works in Boston. They do it at noon, they do it on both weekend shows and they of course tried it on weekday mornings.. With Jonathan Elias announcing his departure to WJLA this week they're now going to have to go outside since they have absolutely no depth in terms of male anchors waiting in the wings. Another reason why grooming new talent on the weekend would have been beneficial to them. GoldenShine9 1513
It makes me think - what would be the most dominant station (in terms of ratings in its market) in America? First only considering markets with 2 or more news operations, and then 3 or more news operations. ns8401 941
Search "Sacramento TV News Ratings 2015" in Google and see what pops up. If you don't find anything such as an article by a local paper or a press release from one of the stations there then it is safe to say there is no information available. The results we talk about on here come from either press releases or local media articles... skbl17 188
It makes me think - what would be the most dominant station (in terms of ratings in its market) in America? First only considering markets with 2 or more news operations, and then 3 or more news operations. For two-operation markets, I think WTVY in Dothan would definitely be up there. Their only competition is a fairly low-budget Nexstar operation (plus no news on the weekends and a limited OTA range), and a Fox station that airs one newscast and operates out of WSFA. WTVY can air My Little Pony stuff on their morning show and get away with it. For a CBS station in ultraconservative southeastern Alabama, that's some serious security. (Oh, and I see italics are still broken on this site.)
