And why is Steve leaving? From his Facebook feed:

As some of you already know, this will be my last week at WNBC. My wife is part of a new start-up business in south Florida and it's too good of an opportunity to pass up! So, for the first time in my adult life, I'm relocating and it's not for a job in TV.

But first I can't begin to tell you how much I've enjoyed the last 3 years working here. It was everything I dreamed it would be. The staff is truly the best in the business, from everyone behind the scenes, to management, to all the on-air personalities. I am truly blessed to work with such an amazing team and I will miss all of them.

My 18 year career has taken me to some great places. The plains of West Texas, the beaches of Central California, the beautiful Pacific Northwest, and our Nation's Capital. But most of my life I spent living in the NYC area, first Queens, then Manhattan, then Fairfield County once my children were born. Now I'm looking forward to living in Palm Beach County, Florida and having a slower lifestyle. The plan is to watch the kids while I look for another job. So don't be surprised if you start seeing weather updates from south Florida in your feed!

All the best and thanks for watching.

Steve
