wkytdirector 8 Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 WKYT launched a bunch of new elements today. New graphics package designed by Gray Digital Media (also used by KSNB), new music (CBS Local by Stephen Arnold Music), and new weather/traffic system (WSI's Max Weather and Max Traffic)
TheRolyPoly 2592 Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 WKYT launched a bunch of new elements today. New graphics package designed by Gray Digital Media (also used by KSNB), new music (CBS Local by Stephen Arnold Music), and new weather/traffic system (WSI's Max Weather and Max Traffic) Ehh... the open is okay, but not intriguing to say the least. And a new slogan too... WKYT Stands for Kentucky. I've seen that style of slogan used elsewhere so not really original... KHOU Stands for Houston.
ChesapeakeTV 312 Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 Pretty nice, if a bit simplistic. I don't like the minimalist cuts of the music though.
swillh2k2 205 Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 Great job with the outline of Kentucky underneath the slogan. I like this look.
ABC 7 Denver 1729 Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 WKYT launched a bunch of new elements today. New graphics package designed by Gray Digital Media (also used by KSNB), new music (CBS Local by Stephen Arnold Music), and new weather/traffic system (WSI's Max Weather and Max Traffic) These scream VizRT. I am not a fan.
TheRolyPoly 2592 Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 I do like the choice of cuts for the music used for "NOW at 4:00/4:30." It makes me want to dance.
abric 181 Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 The new weather graphics match what is used on WOWT-TV
LexTVandRadio 418 Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 I like it, music is good and I like the opens.
Samantha 2902 Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 I like how the "WKYT Stands for Kentucky" lockup resembles the state shape.
NEOMatrix 1307 Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 I do like the 3D elements of the graphics. Good job.
MichiganNewsGraphicsJunkie 949 Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 I do love all the elements of everything... Just kinda baffled as to why they did it.. Didn't they just get a new opening/graphics package last year?? Or has it been longer already?
LexTVandRadio 418 Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 Yeah they changed it around this time last year. Not sure on the reason why it was changed. Now I wonder if WLEX will update theirs? They try to get 5-7 years out of their graphics.
who?cares 255 Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 Yeah they changed it around this time last year. Not sure on the reason why it was changed. Now I wonder if WLEX will update theirs? They try to get 5-7 years out of their graphics. They still have the best look in that market.
ProduceGuy 31 Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 They still have the best look in that market. WKYT or WLEX?
LexTVandRadio 418 Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 LEX They pay a lot of money for it. Waiting for them to build a new set next in Lexington. I am sure WTVQ will have a virtual set "if" they update theirs.
Big Country News 435 Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 I've seen these elements before...
aandersen93 6 Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 The new weather graphics match what is used on WOWT-TV I wouldn't be surprised if KOLN/KGIN adopts this package to align with their central Nebraska affiliates (KSNB,KNOP) that they are controlling from Lincoln so that it all has a similar image since they are promoting it all as the Nebraska News & Information Network.
TheRolyPoly 2592 Posted December 26, 2015 Posted December 26, 2015 I know this thread is a month old... sorry for bumping it up, but here's an open montage of the recent new graphics. I took all the opens and mashed it up into a montage:
