rkolsen 1684
WSB the Cox Communications flagship station screwed up big time by reporting that the National Weather Service posted a No Swim Advisiory in Okaloosa and Walton Coutines in he Florida Panhandle for the upcoming 4th of July (one of the few days that I can write dates how I like it as DD/MM/YYYY) weekend. It's worth noting that the NWS does not release any such warnings. WSB's Chief Meteorologist Glenn Burns reportedly said "really toxic levels of fecal bacteria," "toxic levels of blue-green algae" and said that it is "very dangerous to swim in these waters. They call tthis, the kind of, flesh-eating bacteria". Because of his reports there have been reports of cancellations over this peak holiday weekend. http://www.ftvlive.com/todays-news/2016/6/30/atlanta-weatherman-in-hot-water-over-beach-closing-reports http://www.mypanhandle.com/news/erroneous-reports-cause-swimming-concerns-at-local-beaches Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/15206-wsb-chief-meteorologist-screws-up-beach-forecast-as-flesh-eatimg-bacteria/ Share on other sites
