ProduceGuy 31 Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 Friday night's 11 p.m. newscast took place from the newsroom. Now, it appears the station is using a simplified replica of the main set. Any idea what's going on?
TheRolyPoly 2592 Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 I'm in Orlando on vacation. When I saw their 11:00pm news last night for just a little bit, it looked pretty normal to me.
ProduceGuy 31 Posted August 22, 2016 Author Posted August 22, 2016 This morning, they used no wide shots of the set, where all five members of the morning team could be seen at once. Also, no shots of the weather center. It appears the skyline duratrans on the left side of the set (behind male anchor) has been replaced. And while the desk seems the same, there are no longer any lights on the desktop (that I can see), helping light the talent.

I know your making your dad, Greg Warmoth, proud. Anyways, seems to me that's new.
rpfl89 1 Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 If you look at some of their anchors social media posts, you can see they're in a temp studio
MikePulse 319 Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 "Hurricane's a-coming! Let's at least show off the weather center and the TVs." Everything else, I'm sure, will be revealed once the storm is over.
ProduceGuy 31 Posted October 7, 2016 Author Posted October 7, 2016 Such bad timing! But it's gotta be difficult to build it between sweeps, elections and hurricane season.
MonkeyFighter 15 Posted October 17, 2016 Posted October 17, 2016 WKMG's new set debuted today.

Is everyone turning in to see our new set here at @news6wkmg? Greggo 358 Posted October 17, 2016 Posted October 17, 2016 Looks kinda cheap with all that frosted glass.
KRAP-TV 146 Posted October 17, 2016 Posted October 17, 2016 That set is retro, and not in a good way...
24994J 5629 Posted October 17, 2016 Posted October 17, 2016 Hate is a strong word, therefore, I don't hate it. That said, what Tegna station rejected that desk?
TheRolyPoly 2592 Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 WESH is the last to still not switch to a new set. Had theirs since 2007 I believe.
Action Newsroom 1300 Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 It's not bad... But that glass background is a turnoff. Frosted Flakes has less frost.
ToriElectra 292 Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 I actually kinda like it. The frosted glass makes it look not too flashy or distracting, compared with so many other sets these days.
Nosyviewer 1 Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 Same set that wjxt has been using since a few days before the hurricane
