TriangleTriadMediaNews 267 Posted January 20, 2017 Posted January 20, 2017 i have noticed that some fox affiliates are not carrying the network's coverage of the inaguration and instead running their regular programming WRLH in Richmond is currently airing Steve Wilkos, so unless they break in to cover the swearing in, I assume they won't air it at all.

Eat News 4745 Posted January 20, 2017 Posted January 20, 2017 i find it quite surprising that fox is allowing their affiliates to skip a presidential inaguration broadcast FOX had to toss a bone to some of the liberal affils to make up for that whole Ailes fiasco. They decided to let some of them cut-away because even FOX knows this is pretty boring TV by todays standards. I saw it on the internet.
ColDayNews 438 Posted January 21, 2017 Author Posted January 21, 2017 WBNS and WHIO (two larger CBS stations) went local after the oath, due in part to the school shooting in Champaign County. They returned to CBS coverage at 2pm.
johnnya2k6 171 Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 If the side-by-side photos are any indication, it appears nobody cared less. Only 250,000 people saw it all in person, compared to the 1.8 million who packed the National Mall for Obama's 2009 inauguration. In the end, low attendance may translate to lower TV ratings for this "inauguration".
TriangleTriadMediaNews 267 Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 All of the DC stations ditched the network around 1:30-2pm to cover the protests & riots locally. WRC was the only terrestrial station who stayed local through the swearing in and speech from Pres. Trump, via their Cozi subchannel.

Action Newsroom 1300 Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 15.3 million viewers watched coverage on the Big 4 networks. NBC lead across the board, starting with 5.8M total viewers. http://deadline.com/2017/01/donald-trump-nbc-news-leads-ratings-broadcast-tv-inauguration-day-1201891542/ A big number, but not "yuge".
nickp 340 Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 In the younger 18-49 age bracket, NBC topped the broadcast networks as well, with 1.7M viewers, to ABC’s 1.1M and CBS’s 920K.

Yeah right. Thank god 2020 is just 3 years away.

johnnya2k6 171 Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 In the very end...31 million viewers saw it all, which was still far lower than Obama (2009) and Reagan (1981).

DirtyHarry 727 Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 Those arsewholes at ABC showed that one picture with about 2/3 of the Washington Mall empty AGAIN TODAY. I switched the channel right away. Total misrepresentation -- Trump is correct to fight them. FAKE NEWS.
