ProduceGuy 31 Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Just saw this posted on Twitter. Has anyone seen it on air yet?
rkolsen 1686 Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 They are really over the top. I guess they want to trump the elevated podium (guessing six feet off the floor) that WPLG has in their newsroom. Edit: Here's the WPLG newsroom position. It looks good without being tacky (but that's WSVN's aesthetic). And here's what the reporter sees:
Weeters 1969 Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 What the hell??? You'd think with all the money spent on signage and LED fixtures, they could make the ceiling tiles in the upper corner look decent.
TheRolyPoly 2592 Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 WPLG is just trying to copy WSVN at everything they do. The Plex Deck may be new but WSVN's been doing shots from its deck for years but in a different spot so its nothing new. WPLG's just trying to steal it away.
MorningNews 1500 Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Everything about the city of Miami, including its news stations, is so tacky.
AlNYTVRadio 21 Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 I was in South Florida until the 27th, and the "Plex Deck" wasn't a thing...but hey, its only adding to the #1 news set arguably in the nation!

Best in South Florida at least, yes. It'll still be better than WFOR's new set which debuts Monday.

USNewsie 50 Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Everything about the city of Miami, including its news stations, is so tacky. I think WTVJ puts a decent product out, not too tacky compared to SVN and PLG. WFOR don't try at all but I will take their tame product before PLG and sometimes SVN.
MorningNews 1500 Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 WTVJ is really good and WFOR news product isn't bad. It's crazy to me that they are the 3rd and 4th most watched station in the market.
TheRolyPoly 2592 Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 @rkolsen and I were mentioned in this story, though not by name: http://www.sun-sentinel.com/features/fl-fea-wsvn-miami-plex-deck-20170821-story.html
