newswatch 1 Posted July 12, 2007 Share Posted July 12, 2007 There are some news theme music out there that are completely symphonic: Local news themes: KIRO 1993 News Theme - CBS affiliate in Seattle, WA KFDA News theme - Eric Enfalt and the Amarillo Symphony's theme song for the CBS station in Amarillo, TX WGN 1991 News theme - theme music for the pre-WB-and-then-CW, and former independent, station in Chicago Network News themes: CBS Evening News: Dan Rather's theme song from 1987-2006, with the 7-note signature; and Katie Couric's theme, which was done by John Williams' competitor James Horner (Titanic and other movie themes). NBC Nightly News: Tom Brokaw segue to Brian Williams - 1985-now - song done by John Williams (E.T., Indiana Jones, Star Wars and Superman). ABC News: PrimeTime Live, Turning Point and 1986's Our World - Bill Conti (composer of ROCKY theme); and the World News Now 1992 theme from Yanni.
