Journalist 894 Posted March 24, 2018 Posted March 24, 2018 I feel like a old man remembering the launch of NBC News' last beta site which turned out to be a complete disaster.... However, it appears NBC wants to reboot its news website with a heavy focus on specific topics and segments rather than general categories - all in a alignment with more modern news blogs like Vox, Axios and Mic. To be honest, it looks pretty clean. It's responsive, neatly categorized, and the webfonts aren't a assault to your eyes. Speaking of webfonts, the bold font used in their headlines is actually the exact same font that is currently used to brand the South by Southwest festival. That checks out. beta.nbcnews.com
rkolsen 1686 Posted March 24, 2018 Posted March 24, 2018 It's nice. When MSNBC shows some of the articles on full screen graphics they have already been using screen grabs of the new website instead of the old one.
Journalist 894 Posted March 24, 2018 Author Posted March 24, 2018 Also, this made me chuckle a bit. Aah, they were so close!
C Block 1566 Posted March 24, 2018 Posted March 24, 2018 I was wondering what that was. It looks very uncharacteristic of NBC.
MidwestTV 1247 Posted March 27, 2018 Posted March 27, 2018 It's petty, but the fact that "NEWS" by the peacock in the header isn't the traditional NBC News font (whatever it is) really, really bothers me.

Eat News 4745 Posted April 15, 2018 Posted April 15, 2018 As a designer it is more user friendly. As a friendly user...I like the design.
