CSRep 5
As an Arizona Native, I was in Phoenix last week for a wedding, and saw that KPNX, the Tegna Affiliate, got a modified "Tegna in a Box" set that debuted last week for the station's 65th Anniversary. Set seems dark, as they are now in the back of the streetside studio, and the anchor desk is no longer in front of the windows. There was a video I cannot find now that shows the area near the windows now functions as a live performance area, and the kitchen is between the news area and the performance area. Wondering if the mini-KHOU downtown set, or the WFAA set will share any of treatment applied to KPNX? SFTV 528
The flat screens look so much better on the desk! Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/16439-kpnx-new-set/#findComment-202960 Share on other sites
Samantha 2896
The move away from the streetside background is somewhat disappointing, though they weren't using it much blocking-wise, from the few times I have dared to watch 12. C Block 1566
Looks nice, though I don't think monitors on the front of any anchor desk is ever necessary under any circumstances. MikePulse 318
It does look pretty slick. Though (mini-side rant) as much as they’re trying to be WSVN, even THEY know when to kill the music. MarkBRollins88_v2 350
Monitors on the desk? What a concept, Tegna! You're slowly learning! MidwestTV 1234
The set actually looks pretty nice being so darkly lit. It might not suit the bright, sunny environment of Arizona, but it does look nice.
