LorenKarr 18 Posted January 14, 2020 Posted January 14, 2020 Shortly after Nexstar got the keys to WHO, I noticed that a few elements of their set disappeared. My assumption was that a new set might be on the way. Today, their new set made its debut. I think it's a step up from their final Tribune set. Although, I don't think the weather center is new -- it looks like a chunk of the old weather center, just placed behind bars. The skyline behind the anchors is video -- not static. Forgive me for the lousy cell shots.

TSSZNews 1052 Posted January 14, 2020 Posted January 14, 2020 An absolutely essential upgrade. Nice job.
Action Newsroom 1299 Posted January 14, 2020 Posted January 14, 2020 Two thumbs way up. Great look overall.
dman748 1256 Posted January 14, 2020 Posted January 14, 2020 It's a very nice set for WHO, well done Nexstar. I do wonder who did that set? Was it a BDI job or whoever it is that does the Dalek desk sets?
Gavin 118 Posted January 14, 2020 Posted January 14, 2020 Good set for a small market complexed Nexstar design with local flair, and still shows Nexstar will go all the way, even know in small market and give them a modern big city look.
MidwestTV 1240 Posted January 14, 2020 Posted January 14, 2020 Des Moines is hardly a "small market."
who?cares 255 Posted January 14, 2020 Posted January 14, 2020 It looks like the WBRE set -- which was designed by the Nexstar team.
MichiganNewsGraphicsJunkie 947 Posted January 14, 2020 Posted January 14, 2020 According to Newscast Studiio, Nexstar themselves did it https://www.newscaststudio.com/setstudio/who/
MidwestTV 1240 Posted January 14, 2020 Posted January 14, 2020 It's not bad by any means. Maybe a bit busy. It's certainly good for a corporate design, but certainly something a dedicated fabrication business could have touched up and streamlined some.
MarkBRollins88_v2 350 Posted January 14, 2020 Posted January 14, 2020 Pretty good. I think the glass behind the weather pod and the anchors is a bit cheesy, but overall a great look and a major, much-needed upgrade!
Guest Posted January 26, 2020 Posted January 26, 2020 Am I the only one who thinks this set is going to get dated very quickly? From the angular glass windows behind the anchors and especially separating the weather center and weather pod, to the actual columns and bones of the set looking like they come from the 1980s. I honestly think it’s flashy and nice, but I do feel like this is going to get old very quick.
