TVboricuaUSA sources assured that the channel will stop being called Univision and will become known as TeleOnce. The announcement, to be made shortly by Liberman Media Group, would mark TeleOnce's return to channels WLII-TV (channel 11) and its repeater stations WSUR-TV (channel 9) and WOLE-TV (channel 12), which since 2002 they became part of Univision. It should be noted that WSTE-DT (channel 7) and the Univision Radio stations will continue to be in the hands of Univision. So 'Univision Puerto Rico' branding to WSTE, perhaps? Samantha 2895
WWCP in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, is being transferred closer into Sinclair's orbit. Peak Media is selling the station to Johnstown (WWCP-TV) Licensee, which will be a Cunningham subsidiary. Peak already had brokered the station's time to Cunningham. Cunningham will acquire WWCP-TV's antenna, its Fox affiliation agreement, and its 1996 Interim Operating Agreement to operate WATM-TV for $2.85 million. This marks the exit from television for Peak's owners, Elliot Evers, Gregory Widroe and Brian Pryor. Evers and Widroe hold minority stakes in five Chico market radio stations in the Deer Creek cluster, and Evers is trustee for three divestiture trusts of radio stations run by Cumulus and Cox. Not much of a loss from the $10 million Fox was going to buy it for in 2014 when they needed a backstop just in case they couldn't get the terms they wanted from Tribune for KCPQ pre-Nexstar purchase. Fox of course is pretty happy now with not having to run "Fox 24 Seattle" and a WBTS-esque mess of a translator network with a main tower 80 miles from downtown. 2 Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/18065-at-the-fcc/page/36/#findComment-256677 Share on other sites

I don't think that's their plan. Why would you want to move to KLCW spectrum when they can be on its own UHF frequency? Along with moving UHF is to move from its current site to KJTV/KLCW's tower. CircleSeven 1955
New PRM. This time, its a Scripps station. They want to move KRIS off VHF 13 for UHF 26. I guess this is an oppurtune time to ask, as they're in the process of installing a new tower, after the old one collapsed last year. dabx 60
Question: If a station moves from a VHF to a UHF, are the station owners eligible for a UHF discount? Is their cap space lowered? CircleSeven 1955
Short answer on both is yes. With the loophole, UHF signals counts at 50% of the households (in contrast to 100% of HH for VHF). So that certainly help the owner's cap space. Not sure if this new Democratic-run FCC is going to attempt to get rid of it again. Wheeler got rid of it. And then Pai brought it back. Going from a 90 mile contour 78.9 mile contour. With a lot of the Gray stations moving to from VHF to UHF like listed above, waiting on WYMT to get off channel 12, but at least it's not low VHF.
