who?cares 253
WTTV is on a temporary set. It’s more like random walls decorated with stone, and a couple of newsroom shots. It’ll be interesting to see what Nexstar comes up with. The WTTV studio is SMALL. Prior to becoming CBS4, Studio B was home to Hoosier Lottery , which was shoved into a conference room. I know that Nexstar kept it and tossed WISH into the bin, but Indy could use some decent ownership.
Guest
I'm sure it will be similar to, if not is, what WJZY got. That set design (which started with something similar at KHON) is meant to go in small studio spaces. Then again, only time will tell.

A trend for sure, but with the fact that Sinclair is broke, Nexstar is deliberately lowering the rankings of their stations, and both are over the cap, I think that their stations are ripe for divestment. 90% to the PE vultures, 10% to the networks. IndyNewsOpens 83
Or they could get a new building. They've been at Network Place at Park 100 since 2005 (when WTTV/WXIN moved out of their even smaller facility on Meridian), but I think that's unlikely. who?cares 253
Ive been told they did a 12 foot addition to the back of the studio. The set is being designed by BDI. CBS4 Traffic Anchor Justin Kollar may have just given us our first preview.
ATLNewsExpert 388
Ah man I actually like there set, yes it's SMALL but they made it work for that market. Hopefully they take full advantage of that 12 foot add on!
who?cares 253
The new set debuted at Noon on Wednesday. I'm told it's designed by BDI. https://cbs4indy.com/video/behind-the-scenes-tour-the-new-cbs4-studio/7674679/
MidwestTV 1207
Who starts a timelapse when the thing is 90% built and they're only making final adjustments? Anyway, it looks good given what a small space they have. Crazy to me that the green screen is hidden behind a sliding wall.
ABC 7 Denver 1658
Why couldn't they have modified the previous set? This is such a money suck from the Creative budget.
nycnewsjunkie 1428
To the person at Nexstar Creative Services who keeps insisting on shoving the desk in the corner: You can stop now. We’ve seen enough. BDI has done much better work in the past (including the previous WTTV set if I’m not mistaken.) This new set’s a bit of a let down imho, but if it gives them a bit more space, it works. I just wish Nexstar would focus their investments on their stations’ journalistic output instead of throwing money at replacing a set that still looked pretty good. Greggo 346
The smooshed CBS4 logo behind the desk looks awful. If you’re gonna spend all that money, come on!

But, it just looks weird most of the time.
Sendir 194
Naw. I love the pylon LCDs. You can quickly see how the pylon will be used as a screen between the anchors for subject graphics.
