Big Rollo Smokes 270 Posted March 29, 2023 Posted March 29, 2023 This isn't a first for a regional sports network, but it's still notable. The YES Network (Yankees, Nets, Liberty) announced a new direct-to-consumer subscription product today, just in time for the start of baseball season. We'll see how this goes.
Georgie56 3353 Posted March 29, 2023 Posted March 29, 2023 The Bally networks were offered DTC last year.
MD TV 288 Posted March 29, 2023 Posted March 29, 2023 Also, NESN already has one and MSG announced their plans a few weeks ago.
WCAUTVNBC10 416 Posted March 29, 2023 Posted March 29, 2023 NBC Sports will be going to DTC via Peacock eventually as well.
TSSZNews 1053 Posted March 29, 2023 Posted March 29, 2023 $25 a month. I get they carry three teams, but that barely makes sense as an in-season price! Woof. Sports is going to break *all* the pay-TV models eventually.
Yankees4life 566 Posted March 31, 2023 Posted March 31, 2023 Way too high. I can't imagine many NY cord cutters want to entertain that. Just imagine in New York, in order to watch all non-National TV Yankees and Nets games, you'll have to pay at least 35-40 bucks a month (as Yankees have a deal with Prime). Just pure insanity.
