Daybreak 292 Posted April 25, 2024 Posted April 25, 2024 (edited) After almost 14 years, WPDE is getting new digs in a few short months (or weeks depending on the anchors posts on social media). Edited April 25, 2024 by Daybreak 1
GraphicsMan 156 Posted April 25, 2024 Posted April 25, 2024 2010 was the last time they debuted a new set that was when Allison Floyd and Tim McGinnis were anchors and Rich Chrampanis was still sports director all of them gone. That’s how long they had the set. 1
Daybreak 292 Posted May 14, 2024 Author Posted May 14, 2024 The studio is now empty. According to sources they should be on the new set in late June. 1 1
rtmclaug 70 Posted May 14, 2024 Posted May 14, 2024 I wouldn’t be surprised if they get the same set that WEAR, WSBT and KATV got. 1

Daybreak 292 Posted October 7, 2024 Author Posted October 7, 2024 The new studio will debut on the 5:00 newscast. 2

Not a fan of the red or whatever color used in the texture below the monitor wall behind the main desk; it reminds me of brick. Sinclair definitely needs to update its graphics, though. They definitely haven't aged well, either. 1
Bsean 163 Posted October 12, 2024 Posted October 12, 2024 That's basically the 2024 update to KGTV's current 2012 set... Yikes... Can't believe that set is still being made all these years later. 1
MetroNews 10 Posted October 12, 2024 Posted October 12, 2024 Actully it’s nothing like KGTV’s current set. Nothing like the layout, anchor desk or weather set. The KGTV set was designed by Park Place. This set was designed by Sinclair’s in-house design team. It’s similar to KEYE, WLOS and a few other Sinclair stations.
MediaZone4K 2302 Posted October 13, 2024 Posted October 13, 2024 Almost looks Nexstar-ish with the tile and white light boxes. Not the worst, not the best set. Meh.

Of course it's not the same layout, but this is my opinion. The desk is very similar (textures updated), the TV array behind the desk is very similar, the colors are just about the same (again textures updated, no use of all light boxes). And yes, I'm aware the sets have different designers, but for me the first thought that came to my mind was KGTV.
