AA55 41 Posted February 27 Posted February 27 Curious as to what the local news ratings are? Someone must know. Who leads at 4,5,6,11? Morning? Thank you!
Encore 323 79 Posted February 27 Posted February 27 The ratings have not changed very much because WABC’s “Channel 7 Eyewitness News” continues to be New York’s #1 News in early morning, midday, evening, and late night as it has for the last few decades. WNBC’s “News 4 New York” is a close second, with WCBS’s “CBS News New York” and WNYW’s “FOX 5 News” trading third and fourth places, and WPIX’s “PIX 11 News” being dead last. In the 7-10am and 10pm slots, FOX 5 is #1 with PIX 11 a close second.

Weeters 2173 Posted March 1 Posted March 1 Broadcasting and Cable has a December 2021 article that states Quote WABC won 5 and 6 p.m. in households and viewers 25-54, and scored a 3.8 in 11 p.m. households and a 1.5 in 25-54. WCBS got a 2.9 and 0.8 at 11, WNBC a 2.3/0.9, WXTV a 1.7/1.1 and WNJU a 1.6/0.9. WABC has long claimed "#1", even though that sometimes has an asterisk on it. I know there was a Comcast press release from 2019 stating that WNJU was the #1 newscast (across key demos and time periods) "regardless of language" in the market at that time.

It can’t even get past WXTV at times how do they become number 1 in the market. 1

Thanks all. Yes someone on the inside must have a peak at numbers they can share? These #’s are 5-6 years old!

You’re right about that because I also wish that we had access to recent numbers so that we don’t have to go by conventional thinking or old data but this is what it is right now. WABC keeps making New York’s #1 News claims at the beginning of their talent opens on Eyewitness News and in promos and I am not saying that they are not one of the leading stations in New York because they are but if they are not #1 across the board anymore, then it would be nice to see some new proof from someone who is on the inside. MorningNews 1711 Posted March 10 Posted March 10 It’s frustrating that ratings data is no longer shared as often as it used to be but I feel like if any other station had knocked WABC from its perch, that station would be vocal about it. That we haven’t probably indicates it’s business as usual. 3

Univision is beating most ABC O&Os in markets like NY, LA, Fresno, Raleigh, Houston, etc. they’ll claim number 1 but not say there number 1 in English. Because the Hispanic stations are beating them sin importar del idioma. Edited March 10 by GraphicsMan
