WABC-TV Chopper Pilot Killed in Midtown Crash

I was watching "Eyewitness News" this morning when Lori Stokes spoke about the death of Captain Paul Smith, Newscopter 7 pilot, who was mowed down by a NYC taxi cab outside a restaurant in midtown last night. So sad. Here is the story from the NY Daily News:

My God, that is so unbelievable. It didn't catch that story when I watching at Noon, I guess because I tuned in late.. But wow, its just one trauma after another for WABC. My thoughts go out to him and his family. That is devastating and very unexpected. :'(

He also worked with John Delgiorno in the mornings. In fact he rode the chopper on the morning of September 11th.

according to what I heard on the radio, the cab was in the right lane heading straight when a car from the left lane turned right bumping the cab out of control. police have confirmed this thru local surveilance cameras
