onthesea 292 Posted November 5, 2018 Posted November 5, 2018 One of the biggest lies of 2004: Telefe announcing that its newscasts were broadcast in HD! They were testing HD studio cameras, but they didn't have the proper HD equipment yet.
WWUpdate 1292 Posted November 10, 2018 Posted November 10, 2018 From Spain, a historical compilation of Antena 3's new intros since 1990:
onthesea 292 Posted November 13, 2018 Posted November 13, 2018 Three intros of Telefe's legendary show Videomatch where Marcelo Tinelli and his gang "appeared" in some movies from The Beatles. It looks like they tried to imitate the technique used on the movie "Forrest Gump": the characters were incorporated into the movies' footage. The Beatles' voices were dubbed by local voice actors/comedians. 1994: A Hard Day's Night 1995: Help! 1999: A Hard Day's Night (again!; but they return to the present)
onthesea 292 Posted November 15, 2018 Posted November 15, 2018 A full edition of BBC's North West Tonight from August 1998, with Stuart Flinders: I always liked that opening theme: it was different and less traditional than those used in the other regions.

TheOneManHerd 555 Posted November 17, 2018 Posted November 17, 2018 A 1975 close from CFCF's Pulse, using the Tar Sequence: Were there WTVT fans in Montreal?
onthesea 292 Posted November 20, 2018 Posted November 20, 2018 Three intros of Telefe's legendary show Videomatch where Marcelo Tinelli and his gang "appeared" in some movies from The Beatles. It looks like they tried to imitate the technique used on the movie "Forrest Gump": the characters were incorporated into the movies' footage. The Beatles' voices were dubbed by local voice actors/comedians. 1994: A Hard Day's Night 1995: Help! 1999: A Hard Day's Night (again!; but they return to the present) Another invasion of footage: the partial intro of Telefe's history magazine Siglo XX Cambalache (c.1993/94) with hosts Fernando Bravo and Teté Coustarot "invading" movies and historical footage. The song that identified the show throughout its entire run was "As Time Goes By", performed by Carly Simon.
onthesea 292 Posted November 21, 2018 Posted November 21, 2018 Beginning today, all of Telefe's O&O stations are eliminating its local names (e.g. Teleocho in Córdoba, Canal 9 in Bahía Blanca or Canal 8 in Tucumán, among others) to adopt Telefe's branding for its entire programming. That means that its local newscasts are now called Telefe Noticias. Here's an example from Córdoba: an excerpt of its midday newscast (1pm) under this new name. Another example: this one is from Santa Fe, where the newscasts have just premiered its HD broadcasts!
