alaskanews 113
There is nothing you can do about something like that, it just happens. But you will get the jackasses who will blast you for being "unprofessional" (human) That is one of the things I hate about the news business, no matter what you do, it is the wrong thing in someone's eyes. MidnightJunkie 55
I wouldn't call that a "meltdown" when I heard meltdown I had visions of her screaming in a temper tantrum rage and uttering not-for-broadcast words. All she was doing was being human and she handled it tactfully, Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/3361-kgw-anchor-meltdown/#findComment-30286 Share on other sites
10Viewer 335
What sickens me is that they even interviewed the man on camera about seeing his wife die. How sickening. Yet, some of you on this board probably would not find anything wrong with that. I could care less if the anchor cries. ProButtonPusher 230
there really wasn't anything "wrong" with it. He wanted his story out there, why else would he tell the reporter? As someone who has interviewed people who have just experienced tragedy, many of them DO want to talk, it is therapeutic for them. Most people want someone to talk to instead of bottling up their grief. If they don't want to do an interview even the most aggressive reporters, and I have been called an aggressive reporter, will not press the person at all. If someone tells me "no" I thank them and apologize for their loss and for disturbing them. Do you think all reporters are heartless? Making the call to request that kind of interview is one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. If it doesn't tear you apart inside, there is something wrong with you.
