The sad part is, that's probably 100% accurate!

I think the fact that the apology letter kept referring to a "worker" was a dead giveaway. That's a word little kids use when pretending they're in the big leagues.

Also, one of the "blooper" videos was not very flattering at all to Sue Simmons or WNBC as a whole. They would not have posted that, period.

Judging from someone's reaction on this board, I think we all now know who was running this page.

I agree, but I'm confused about how he got the color bar video, and a NYN promo that never was on TV. I wonder if WNBC even knows about this...

I'd say WNBC knew about it after this thread. Perhaps they contacted the individual and said he could keep it going if he stated it wasn't an official WNBC site.

WNBC knew about it before it was mentioned on this thread.. A few weeks back, a certain Chicago station found the "4 New York" news promos on YouTube and liked the idea of them so they contacted WNBC with a couple questions about the promos. Apparently, WNBC didn't know the promos were posted on YouTube. It wasn't a very big deal to them at the time that they were posted on YouTube, but they were a little curious to know who at the station would have given copies of them out.

However, YouTube user WNBC4NY could have very well recorded that video with the color bars off the TV too.. I've seen a number of times when that sort of thing was aired either by malfunction, error, or mistake.

I'm still trying to figure out what's the deal with all these nutcase kids going psycho obsessive over a TV station.. Is it some sort of sexual fetish to them? We've had a few here in Chicago and New York seems to get their own too. It would be nice if they would understand that what they're doing is NOT the path to working at a TV station.. It's the path of getting the station to call the cops on them, escorted out of the building, getting a restraining order, and/or even getting arrested.

It's obvious that the youtube pages that are mentioned above (WNBC4NY, WABC7, WCBS2) are managed by some fan and not by the station. In fact it may very well be the same person if you note the similarities. (Most likely the annoying user that was BANNED 2 times already)

WPIX also has a youtube page that is legit. (http://www.youtube.com/user/wpix).

How do we know? Click on any video and the video page will come up. Notice to the right of the video, under the advertisement, the official WPIX logo displayed. This is also apparent for instance on the official CBS youtube site. Notice that all the logos are missing from the video page of the youtube sites of WNBC4NY, WABC7, WCBS2.

Are you guys sure today is his last day? I mean they didn't even mention it. I think working there for 20 years merits a proper goodbye to viewers.

Brian Williams said some very nice words about Len and so did Sue, Chuck and Janice at 6. They were very funny about the cuts at NBC.

So devastating... Still hard to sink this in, oh well... I guess he's off to better things in life, he will be missed, no question about it, and its gonna be really hard for WNBC to develop another icon..

When they gave him the cake at 6pm Len mentioned that they were not going to cut it because it had to be reused due to budget cutbacks. A true professional, Len did a great job of saying goodbye, all the while alluding to the fact that this was not his choice.

Wow that is funny! Thanks for filling in those of us who missed it-- it was good to see his signoff...he was also classy at 11PM while letting viewers understand it was their choice.

Now that the WNBC Sports Department is under staffed, they are back to importing sports anchors from NBC 30 in Hartford, CT, Kevin Nathan was on tonight.

I know I've said it before but it's funny a tv station in the #1 media market has to use anchors from sister stations cause they let their own anchors go.

Wouldn't it make more sense to bring guys in from the network sports division (WNBC being pretty much the flagship)?
