Geoffrey 873 Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 I know we usually focus on the news stations here but I thought I'd mention that SportsNet New York debuted a new look for its Mets broadcasts last night. This is their fourth year of existence and already their third Mets graphics package. I think it looks pretty neat, except I think the scoreboard looks a little cheap and the lower thirds are a bit big, but I love the effects and overall think this is an improvement. What do you guys think? Who do you think might have designed this?
Hometown News 59 Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 Looks like a poor attempt to rip off FOX Sports.
ProButtonPusher 230 Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 Looks like they forgot to update the banner field in that last capture...unless "xxxx" means something...
Harry Houdini 0 Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 They look poor to me. They don't even use the speed gun consistently. Really worse than the graphics is the personel they let go and the weak personel they moved up or hired. Maybe the guy who's doing the graphics does the hiring too. :ack: One thing, it blows.
swillh2k2 205 Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 Like I said in the shoutbox...100x better than their old ones (the last package they used or their very first one). BTW, they look so much better in HD.

What do you guys think? Who do you think might have designed this? It's an improvement compared to the past one, the last one was very boring and bland. At least this one is slightly more sleek and similar to YES.
News24/7 3 Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 SNY... i thought Sunnyvale for a second there! our public access channel needs new stuff. as for these, not bad but not great either. How good quality are the animations?
IceManNYR 240 Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 Since SNY is partly owned by Comcast don't they use the CSN graphics package or was that only for the first year of SNY?
WCAUTVNBC10 413 Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 Crappy graphics for a crappy baseball club. Sorry I couldn't help myself.
Harry Houdini 0 Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 We understand. Nothing like living in a third rate market to make one feel inadequate. Phillies do have over 10,000 lost games, the most in professional sports don't they?
WCAUTVNBC10 413 Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 3rd rate? We're the 4th largest market in the country and the reigning World Champions. I really have no time for Mets fans.
DMA 135 Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 If anything, the NYC market is completely third-rate, there is nothing innovative. It seems like a market in the 10s...
ColumbusNewsFan 217 Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 And the bad part about this graphics package is just like the Mets you will not be seeing it past early September.:rofl!:
IceManNYR 240 Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 I checked a CSN game on MLB Extra Innings and SNY is using their own package and not the standard CSN package for graphics.
swillh2k2 205 Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 The CSN package is horrible IMHO...I'm glad SNY isn't using it.
RGSJenkins 435 Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 If you want to see bad graphics, watch the MSG Network and MSG Plus (formerly FSN New York).
