IceManNYR 240 Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 The news cast started in and is still in standard definition, the vo which usually plays with the intro was missing. When they went to the first local report there was no audio. It seems whatever issue they are having is preventing them from doing live reports. All the reports are being voiced by the anchors with b-roll and they just went to break early at 11:04pm. They came back after a few seconds of a blank screen did 1 report and now they are going to break again at 11:07pm with weather next. Liz Cho just mentioned that the audio board went out just as they were starting the newscast and has caused major problems.
Vlad 334 Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 The news bumper works though, thats about the only sound they have though. They had more breaks than news tonight, lol I'm sure whatever it is, they'll sort it out, WABC always recovers quickly from their errors. Seems that there are not broadcasting in HD at all tonight, because Nightline is also in SD.
Vlad 334 Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 The Rebroadcast of EWN was also not aired, they just went straight into World News Now.
NewsJunkie247 1 Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 All was back to normal today on Eyewitness News This Morning and at Noon, HD and all.
TrfRptr 3 Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Maybe they were sharing production with Fox 5. lol
WCAUTVNBC10 413 Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Oh boy. God forbid something bad happens at WABC. What is this world coming to?!
DMA 135 Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 This has happened multiple times...I saw an entire newscast in SD a few weeks ago. Also, I've seen the greenscreen camera mess up like this on more than one occasion:
PhillyWatch 240 Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Whatever went on up there is drifting south as Action News here tonight has been a trainwreck.
