jero23 105 Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 KNSD has changed it station's 6PM newscast "San Diego Nightly News". Here are some screenshots from NCS http://www.newscaststudio.com/blog/2009/04/02/nbc-san-diego-rebrands-nightly-news/
eyewitness_news 5 Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Looks like they're taking a page from WNBC, hence the "New York Nightly News."
nbc9houston 22 Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Fellow NBC O&O WTVJ has the "South Florida Nightly News". KPNX used to have the "Arizona Nightly News".
Hometown News 59 Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 The graphics are terrible too. Times New Roman? Seriously? Here I thought graphics were supposed to be clear and instantly readable.
ColumbusNewsFan 217 Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 That is the worst big market open that I have seen.s Possibly worst than a majority of small market stations i have seen. That is easily in my 10 top bad news opens.
A3N 1002 Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Well, you have to realize that this was an in-house job. So don't expect anything too spectacular and with all the layoffs that KNSD has had and continues to have, frankly i'm surprised that they decided to even attempt to do this. Makes me wonder, with all the changes to the newscasts format and graphics, if KNSD is any closer to HD news.
1place4news 5 Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Makes me wonder' date=' with all the changes to the newscasts format and graphics, if KNSD is any closer to HD news.[/quote'] HD is coming, maybe as soon as next month.

After having lived through WCAU's novocom open, I assure you that's not the worst big market open I've seen... at least KNSD has animation (although it does need a lot of work)
