She will be missed.
TellyGenic 33 Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 Certainly the best of the breed. Some of the others who do what she does for other stations (Susan Jhun at NY1, Howard Thompson at CW11, etc.) could take a few lessons from her about getting results without unnecessary conflict.
Harry Houdini 0 Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 They just ran a nice piece on her in the 5 O'Clock hour. Everyone was near tears. She was one of their best.

No matter who her replacemeant will be they will not be as good as Tappy.. Nobody could ever be as good!!! Best Wishes to Tappy!!
NewsJunkie247 1 Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 It is sad to see her leave. She is a class act journalist that has done some great things for people for years. I wish her the best on her retirement. As for the comment she made about not being happy about something, I wonder what she was refering to.
wabceyewitness 829 Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Just read the article... she is referring to the tribute the station had planned for her. She is not comfortable with accolades, so she is saying that she will probably not enjoy a tribute to her. Her is the excerpt from the article that should give more context: "I'm not really comfortable with accolades and tributes," Phillips said yesterday. "I understand the station wants to do something; it's not something I'll enjoy."
Geoffrey 877 Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 From what I have heard, Tappy didn't do much work these last few years. She sat around while the interns checked the calls and e-mails and the producer did most of the work. Then she waited for the script to arrive and did the minimum. I know this happens everywhere in TV but it sounds like she was getting away with a lot lately.
Harry Houdini 0 Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 That doesn't sound-like it holds water. It sounds-like it comes from disgruntled flunky.
anchorman 99 Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 Wow. Truly a legend. Very sad, and a very big loss for WABC.
Metropolitan 0 Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Anyone know what Tappy's real first name is?
Harry Houdini 0 Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Tapia or Tapisha, or something like that. A real horseshit name that parents didn't even use.
Harry Houdini 0 Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 How about Tamaesha? Heres' the video. Her names is at 1:06. Enjoy. http://abclocal.go.com/wabc/video?id=7130078
