She will be missed. Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/6023-7-on-your-sides-tappy-phillips-retiring-after-24-years/#findComment-56096 Share on other sites
TellyGenic 33
Certainly the best of the breed. Some of the others who do what she does for other stations (Susan Jhun at NY1, Howard Thompson at CW11, etc.) could take a few lessons from her about getting results without unnecessary conflict. Harry Houdini 0
They just ran a nice piece on her in the 5 O'Clock hour. Everyone was near tears. She was one of their best. NewsJunkie247 1
It is sad to see her leave. She is a class act journalist that has done some great things for people for years. I wish her the best on her retirement. As for the comment she made about not being happy about something, I wonder what she was refering to. wabceyewitness 818
Just read the article... she is referring to the tribute the station had planned for her. She is not comfortable with accolades, so she is saying that she will probably not enjoy a tribute to her. Her is the excerpt from the article that should give more context: "I'm not really comfortable with accolades and tributes," Phillips said yesterday. "I understand the station wants to do something; it's not something I'll enjoy." Geoffrey 861
From what I have heard, Tappy didn't do much work these last few years. She sat around while the interns checked the calls and e-mails and the producer did most of the work. Then she waited for the script to arrive and did the minimum. I know this happens everywhere in TV but it sounds like she was getting away with a lot lately. Harry Houdini 0
That doesn't sound-like it holds water. It sounds-like it comes from disgruntled flunky. Harry Houdini 0
Tapia or Tapisha, or something like that. A real horseshit name that parents didn't even use.
