TVNewsRI 4 Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 The combined site for WBZ-TV/AM/FM and WSBK-TV launched today. http://boston.cbslocal.com/
qunewsguy 378 Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 I've heard WBZ got a TON of complaints about the new site today.
Jess 1116 Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 I've heard WBZ got a TON of complaints about the new site today. I'm not surprised. CBSPhilly.com has been bashed numerous times - on air - by the 610 WIP hosts because you can't find things. KYW 1060 anchors haven't started directing listeners to the new site until this week. I'd be surprised if these sites aren't re-divided in a year or so. It seems like there's just so much dissent.

I know the sites are TV only, but the NBC(insert-town).com wastelands are still up and running, and those are even worse that the CBS sites.
lazynetjunkie 34 Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 I've heard WBZ got a TON of complaints about the new site today. WBBM got alot of complaints about the new site too.. Some were from the station's own staff even before the new site was launched.. However, The amount of complaints so far received from viewers (and were expected too) are nowhere near the thousands of hits the site still receives on a daily basis and site traffic in general hasn't really gone down since the launch. I think with the new format, you'll just have to give the individual station some time before it's fully worked out. A part of the rollout included the cut of web staff from most of the stations involved. In some cases, the web staff from the radio side is fully maintaining the new site(s).. So the time and resources to get everything a TV station would like up just isn't there anymore. Anyways, I was still promised that the sites will definitely not end up as bad as the NBC O&O sites.. If the sites' traffic goes down a little due to dislike of new site (CBS did predict that there would be a good chance of that happening); however, are able to be maintained with less CBS staff than previously, then goal has been fulfilled.
gameshowguy2000 1 Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 As is CBS DFW: http://dfw.cbslocal.com/ Though I did notice that the "cbs11tv.com" URL is still on the newsdesk on KTVT's set. I assume they're going to change that sometime soon.
tw-804 194 Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Whats up with WBZ? No news videos. Click on "Watch and Listen" and then "Videos on Demand".

bostonmediaguy 124 Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Looks like Miami is next... http://cbsmiami.wordpress.com/ Each O&O market is ready... minnesota.cbslocal.com (which is at launch) miami.cbslocal.com denver.cbslocal.com sacramento.cbslocal.com pittsburgh.cbslocal.com baltimore.cbslocal.com
capper581 0 Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 I really wonder what will happen to WWJ's site. The domain is there: http://cbsdetroit.wordpress.com/ The current wwjtv.com has not been updated to match CBS O&O web platforms in years.
Jess 1116 Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 I really wonder what will happen to WWJ's site. The domain is there: http://cbsdetroit.wordpress.com/ The current wwjtv.com has not been updated to match CBS O&O web platforms in years. It will be merged into the CBS Detroit site. Even though WWJ-TV doesn't have a news presence, remember that these are also the new websites for CBS' news, sports, and talk stations as well. The news portion will simply come from the radio side (which, to be honest, is pretty much true of the other sites).

bixpchiphead 105 Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 'CCO (CBS Minnesota) http://minnesota.cbslocal.com/ and KD (CBS Pittsburgh) http://pittsburgh.cbslocal.com/ are now up and Live. Looks like 'JZ (CBS Bawlmer) will be up as soon as they can gently pry G.M. Jay Newman away from the door to the server room to make the switch.
gameshowguy2000 1 Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 I've noticed something on KTVT's set: The "cbs11tv.com" URL on the newsdesk has been replaced with the CBS11 HD logo that they've had since '07.
stevieboy247 42 Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Looks like 'JZ (CBS Bawlmer) will be up as soon as they can gently pry G.M. Jay Newman away from the door to the server room to make the switch. That's Baltimore, not Bawlmer.
blueflag 0 Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 You've obviously never been to Bawlamer, hon.
WCX-TV 17 Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 So it appears that Baltimore is now up as well as WFOR. But Miami's old site CBS4.com is still up as well. Well sum what sum of the tabs still send you to the wordpress log-in (weather tab)
