Since we've seen clips of WMAQ's blizzard coverage and Floyd Kalber, let's combine the two and take a look at this clip of Kalber from 1967:

Here's Kalber in 1972:

And here's Kalber's 1976 farewell from WMAQ (featuring Jane Pauley and goodbye messages from other Chicago news teams):

At long last....an unedited WCPO clip with Al. The Guinness Book referred to him as the highest rated local news anchor in America at one time.

Nancy O’Dell before she was famous. A 1992 report from her at WCBD. Dan Ashley is one of the news anchors.

Not only did Nancy O'Dell became a nationally-famous entertainment reporter, but also Dan Ashley moved to the Bay Area's ABC7 KGO San Francisco/Oakland/San Jose. I didn't know Nancy O'Dell went by Nancy Humphries, nor did I know Dan Ashley anchored in the South Carolina low country before going to the San Francisco Bay Area.

It’s 11:00! Al Schottlekotte News time!

If it weren’t for the live shot, you’d think this newscast was from 1969, not 1979.

You have to admit this looks pretty good for small town LPTV news in 1983:

So, apparently K26AC was an indirect predecessor of what is now WFTC satellite KFTC. The ads for the subscription TV service offered by the station seem nondescript, it doesn't say what the name of the service is, if it's a service we haven't heard of or one of the ones known to exist (like ONTV, SelecTV, VEU, Wometco, Preview, etc.).

Sticking to Washington, DADOSUPERMARIO2 has been uploaded some TVARK stuff, like this WUSA open from ‘05:

Really sad that an almost 15 year old graphics package could actually do better now instead of the dumpster fire that is TEGNA.

Hey everyone,

As you know, the channel that you saw the old news opens etc, have been changing directions, so with that in mind here's the same WNBC 1995 open in HD/Smooth Frame Video

TVARK is back online: https://www.tvark.org/?page=644

It appears this user is Bandicam-ing their stuff and re-uploading to Youtube. Not cool, bro.

What do you use to capture 60fps? I would love to transition to this for my uploads at some point.

WVEC report on the Virginia General Assembly's failure to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment on February 13, 1980. Includes the last few seconds of the open using the ABC World News Tonight synthesizer theme.

Virginia finally ratified the ERA today - 40 years later.

Sorry to bring this up and I know it doesn't deserve to belong here since its 2008-present but its related to the ERA topic.

If you've been wondering what Carol Jenkins (former WNBC'er) has been up to... here you go.
