  1. Past hour
  2. Her final appearance after 34 years there.
  3. I wonder if this treatment might help Bill? It won't reverse the disease, but at least in this 80yr old patient with advanced Alzheimer's disease, it improved functions and quality of life, in what I have to say is a remarkable way. Only one person in this trial, so the results in a larger case study are of course unknown, but if the affects of the treatment truly had such profound improvements, it seems worthwhile. https://www.sciencealert.com/magic-mushrooms-and-alzheimers-one-remarkable-case-raises-new-questions
  4. Today
  5. Also note in there that the 11pm is going solo moving forward with just Mike Clark at the helm. Unrelated to that... After 16 years at the station, WPLG's Liane Morejon is getting a well earned promotion from just reporting to weekend morning anchoring. She'll still report three days a week. https://www.instagram.com/p/DaEJ5atlMIP/?igsh=c3RybzNqMWliaDll
  6. Another departure at WTAE Pittsburgh, after 4 years, Anchor Kristen Powers has announced she's leaving the station and the business. https://triblive.com/aande/movies-tv/tv-talk-kristen-powers-exits-wtae/

  10. Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
  11. I liked them having live programming on Saturday and Sunday nights but the show never really found its footing this year from what I’d seen. The hosts were all a bit boring.
  12. WCIA 3's longest-serving anchor, Jennifer Roscoe, has decided to call it a career after 34 years there. They aired a half-hour special but this is the off-air version of it. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.wcia.com/specials/celebrating-34-years-at-wcia-jennifer-roscoe-says-goodbye/amp/
  13. Interesting that even with this primetime shift, MS NOW will still have more live weekend hours than CNN or Fox News
  14. More weekend changes. The Weekend: Primetime airs its final episode this Saturday (June 27th) and video podcasts from Crooked Media will take over weekend evenings. Also, Alex Witt will leave MS NOW later this year.
  15. On the weekend of July 10th, WCSC-TV will be discontinuing two newscasts: their half-hour news at 3:00pm and their Sunday morning news at 8:00am as they expand Palmetto Life to three different editions, one at 9:00am where its at now, another at 3:00pm, and another on Sunday morning at 8:00am. Emilie Zuhowski will continue at 9am while Regan Ranzer is tapped to host at 3pm, and Isabelle Marak will helm Sunday mornings. https://tvnewscheck.com/journalism/article/palmetto-life-expands-to-three-weekly-broadcasts-on-wcsc-charleston/
  16. Long-time Pittsburgh meteorologist Jeff Verzyla's contract not renewed by WTAE Pittsburgh https://triblive.com/aande/movies-tv/tv-talk-meteorologist-jeff-verzyla-out-at-wtae/
  17. Are we about to see a self-antonomous governing body of Hawai'i take ownership of KITV and KIKU? Hear me out on this. (Source: Wikipedia) The Office of Hawaiian Affairs (OHA) is a self-governing corporate body of the State of Hawaii, often described as the fourth branch of government. While this is all in the very early stages, there are talks of OHA buying KITV and KIKU from Allen Media Group, possibly putting it in the hands, in some way, with the state government of Hawaii. https://www.kitv.com/news/business/office-of-hawaiian-affairs-moves-forward-with-possible-purchase-of-kitv-kiku/article_90655adf-4b59-4b47-8f23-a5fa12a769f3.html

  24. KDKA officially announced this morning that the AR/VR set will be coming to Pittsburgh in the first or second week of August.
  25. Jack Royer is leaving my favorite, WSVN 7, to become the new main evening anchor at WOFL Orlando. We have found our John Brown replacement who has since left evenings to rejoin Good Day Orlando a few months back. https://www.instagram.com/p/DZ-78p9mDgl/?igsh=MTVhNHVteGp2MDQ0bg==
  26. Comes on the same day WHEC's Glenn Johnson hung it up for good today after a 41-year run in broadcast meteorology, all of it in Rochester. https://www.facebook.com/reel/1334596544748491
  27. Longtime meteorologist Mike Wankum announced earlier tonight that he's retiring at WCVB at the end of the month. https://youtu.be/Z5Sd5Zwa-28?is=4nk3X_Oln9sMSOXi
  28. Longtime WRC-TV Northern Virginia bureau chief Julie Carey has retired. Here is her sendoff: https://www.nbcwashington.com/video/news/local/julie-carey-farewell-news4/4121640/
  29. At this point it’s fair to wonder if losing an over the air signal is that big a deal anymore. There are tons of other ways to get the stations that the FCC has no control over.
