Well, the Archdiocese of Boston owns CatholicTV, so in a sense, the Vatican has access to that.

It's probably coming at some point. I've seen it on holiday weekends where they'll just put the WKBN newscast on WYTV. WKBN is merely a license formality since they sold their overkill spectrum in the auction and is hosted on the more market-friendly WYTV. In this case the brand is worth more than gold since WYTV has always lagged and got subsumed by WKBN in 2007. I guess some parting gifts are worse than others. Seems like some stations benefited from it, especially WJW. (Their current set and graphics) They were long overdue for a change with their "parting gift" from Fox getting really stale by the end of the Tribune era...being the O&O set and a heavily mutated graphics package based on the original.

The set at Studio 47 appears to be permanent, see Jericka edition of CBS Weekend News on Sunday. Additionally, the ending graphics now similar to CBS Evening News one. Here's Studio 47 for Weekend News Here's previous set at Studio 57.

While that’s still true in theory, the NFL has loosened its scheduling in recent years and now, it’s not uncommon to see an NFC vs NFC matchup on CBS or an AFC divisional battle on Fox.

tylerSC started following ABC World News Tonight
-
ABC had the most extensive coverage of the Iran bombing Saturday night, with Whit Johnson anchoring a full hour ahead of NBC and CBS who joined in later to cover Trump's speech from the White House. Then David Muir was the only lead anchor called in to take over coverage at 10pm. Then he anchored World News Tonight with a special Sunday night appearance, and Tom Llamas made it back to the anchor chair on NBC for a special Sunday appearance also. Nothing special on CBS, as Jerika Duncan anchored the Sunday newscast as normal. My preferences remain with ABC.

Ehh…I have a feeling Nexstar will just “combine” WKBN and WYTV and give us “27/33 First News” or something stupid. Also, Nexstar wasn’t the ones that unified WYFX into WKBN’s branding. It was LIN, who also gave us the hideous virtual set. Yes, it was launched under Media General, but LIN likely approved it right before the sale.

The funny thing is that EWTN and the Vatican have a terrible relationship because of a lot of things, including EWTN's hate of Vatican II. If Rome could start its own American operation with EWTN's carriage, they would dump them in a heartbeat. And sadly, 'Christian television' has become just a euphemism for 'right-wing' content; the local religious station in Milwaukee airs a lot of wingnut shows and full podcasts now, including the Worldview Report, which actually gets an audience as an 'alternative' to the local newscasts at 10 p.m. and The National Desk.

It looks so much better, hope they stay in that set! Also, side note, the Weekend News has a "This Day in History" segment, which uses the 06 headline theme! Only thing now that still shows a slight sign of the old package is the coming up L3.
-
They actually have before, I definitely know they did like the moment Russia invaded Ukraine and as few other times as well.
-
I actually don't mind the color scheme, at least it's something slightly different in what is otherwise another generic 2025 graphics package.

Here more from Columbus it like my whole childhood all over again with WSYX & WBNS.

WFNA's use of the KOIN package
Recovering Producer replied to tyrannical bastard's topic in Graphics
As someone who was hired at KDVR/KWGN when they were trying to undo many of the choices made in the early post merger/deuce era - there were moments I heard stories about the previous leadership and decisions made where all I could think was "were they actively trying to fail? or did the altitude and/or the not recreationally legal at the time substance Colorado is known for just mess with their judgement?" -
It probably leads back to Randy Michaels when he was driving Tribune into the ground in the late 2000s. That KWGN package was a special kind of awful. I thought the old WTKR ping-robot arm look was bad, but this was even worse.

We need to investigate who decided "News on the Deuce" was a good idea and potentially file criminal charges.

Merit Street (Dr. Phil Cable Network).
tyrannical bastard replied to nathannah's topic in General TV
I don't ever advocate for a religious network to expand their activities of "praising the lord" via the airwaves...(except for maybe EWTN since it's tied to the Catholic Church itself) But in this case, it would be an improvement over the crap-fest that MeritTV is. Why would TBN ever sell their soul in such a way? Oh yeah, it's TBN. Such an odd mix of Dr. Phil, Nancy Grace, and whatever MMA fight is airing in between. And what does any of this have to do with Christianity? Shouldn't Oprah have put a stop to this decades ago? The next best thing is the CTN stations putting Newsmax2 on their subchannel feeds. I"ll stop here before I go ranting any more. -
David Muir was the only "lead" anchor to come in on a Saturday. (The other three were not leaving home on a Saturday night..I JOKE). In all seriousness, CBS seems to take a more interchangeable approach to their "lead" anchor during breaking news. For example, I've often seen Margaret Brennan take special reports, and even Nora O'Donnell was involved in coverage of the pope's funeral alongside John Dickerson instead of Maurice.
-
I would feel sorry for him... if I could feel sorry for him.
-
Maurice was anchoring the Special Report coverage for the Hegseth Pentagon Presser this morning... So there is that.
-
Where were John, Maurice, and Tom?
-
It was an accent color on its logo, it wasn't a primary color. Those were gray and blue.
-
CBS did eventually do a long special report with Margaret Brennan anchoring. But it was interesting to see the BBC streaming simulcast, I had never seen them do that before.
-
On the broadcasting side, both CBS and NBC stayed with their scheduled programming (48 Hours and Dateline, respectively....and both were years-old episodes, too) for the 9:00pm ET hour. I was flipping through channels at 10pm, and I'm pretty sure CBS was at least starting its second (49th?) hour of 48H, while NBC had switched to live coverage. (Fox broadcasting was airing the Mets-Phillies game, so they're excused, though it looks like they did cut to Fox News for Trump's speech.)

It's as if it has.... [puts on sunglasses] ...no merit.

It’s a pretty significant breaking news story this evening and CBS is phoning it in.
