1. WTVR announces Candace Burns will permanently take over the 6p & 11p co-anchor position with Bill Fitzgerald. Candace came to CBS6 last year when the late Stephanie Rochon took her medical LOA. I'm happy they're giving it to Candace, while we'll all miss Steph, Candace is great and deserves it.

 3. Great choice. I think Peter Alexander should get Saturday edition.

 5. I didn't think I'd like a smaller desk, but this one is very well-done, and a fixed camera angle on the anchors is so much better, too. I know this might be an unpopular opinion, but I think the Orange Room could've maintained a little more of its namesake, and, whether orange, blue, something neutral, or some other color, I think the couch area would be even better with another pop of color.

 6. I'm not sure ABC has ever done that before (meteorologist in the anchor chair). Maybe Dan called out last minute (or is he still overseas?).

 7. Apparently Snuggle, Party City and McCormick have pulled advertising? Has this been confirmed? When advertisers pull is when something will happen ($$$)

 8. The city of Chicago announced a new New Year's Eve event on the downtown riverfront, and NBC 5 has been given the broadcast rights, going head to head with ABC 7 for the first time in decades. http://chicagoradioandmedia.com/news/7654-nbc-5-to-broadcast-live-local-new-year-s-eve-program A comment I saw online: "So instead of Mark Giangreco slobbering over Janet Davies we'll get to see Mark Adamle slobbering over Alison Rosati? Doesn't sound like an upgrade."

 9. Let's put those rumors to rest... So either it will run Good Day Oklahoma in the interim or will just wait until Living Oklahoma debuts on October 5th. Either way, its NOT a newscast. Make note of that. And welcome back Meg, to OKC Television.

 10. That's the 2nd News Director that KFOR have lost this decade. Seems like there's a lot of turmoil within the KFOR Newsroom in the last several years what's up with that?

 11. I recently came across a rare clip from WSLS-TV. This is from 1986, and features a tease for "The News Tonight" with Ken Surpan and Monica Shuman. The theme you hear in this clip is Tuesday13 from Tuesday Productions which was also used on WDEF, KCCI and others. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jscH-Rlt1KM

 12. To be clear, it's actually going to be 'MTP Daily'. The abbreviation is a formality, not a convenience. It's meant to be tied to the brand, without literally making it into a 6-day a week program.

 13. MSNBC confirms Kate Snow anchoring 3-5; Chuck Todd's 5pm show will be called Meet the Press Daily. Changes take place September 28; primetime unchanged for now (though one site reported rumors of All In taking the empty 6pm slot and Rachel Maddow moving to 8pm, but again RUMORS)

 14. The new desk is SO. MUCH. BETTER. Hell, frankly, ALL of it is so much better! This is what the set should have been to start off with. White is a Today Show color, and the use it well. Everything is so much lighter, and the anchor area looks much improved with that new desk. Personally, I wouldn't mind if the base was larger so you couldn't see Natalie or Al's legs, but I won't complain too much. It's better than what was there before. Good job, bravo. A-.

 16. I love this new look of Today. The white colors and palette make it (obviously) much more brighter and clearer; it's like a window was covered up this whole time, and they finally released the curtain. The couch area is the best part. The whites show off the most, and and the subtle hint of orange make it so much better than under the look of the last design. And, I'll be honest. I love and hate the new desk. I actually loved the last desk for how uniquely wooden it was, and how the logo looked etched in it. This one is really nice, but I felt some type of envy towards it. And when I first saw it, it looked like the colored part was a reddish color, other than orange. The Today logo looks really nice, and is a good reprise of the 2006 desk. And the smaller size is oddly nice. The Orange Room is very nice under the expansion. The white look is oddly cool, but there should've been some of the namesake color in there, which makes it odd. Also, there are new on-screen graphics (other than the L3) which look really good. At the end of the day, this new-look Today is so great. The look around is just perfect and reminds me fondly of the 2006 set, but without the sterility and dullness of it, thanks to the pops of Orange all around. I do think it needs a little more Orange in places of White, but other than that, it's awesome.

 18. You've been in the business for 30 years? I'd think you would be wiser than to come here, possibly jeopardizing your employment (yes, this board has been checked at the stations), to offer dirt and heavily push your agenda against Tracy, whom you've mentioned three times in your first four posts. You write with the enthusiastic discovery of an intern that thinks they heard something special. News Flash: You didn't. #countonit If you want something in the papers, go offer it to whomever replaced Dan Gross.
