  1. I forgot to mention this but a while before yesterday's 4AM newscast their computer networks went down. From what I understand nearly everything went down and they were able to get a bare bones show on air and most was normal around 4:30 AM when they started peri scoping. I'm not familiar with OverDrive but does it regularly back up the working order in iNews containing the run down, scripts, MOS and other essential data? If the other network issues pertained could they start the broadcast using the backed up running order already in overdrive. Now was yesterday's outage, just a normal outage, an outage due to neglect, an outage due to an inexperienced scab doing the work or a striker trying to mess them up.

  3. When people turn from the network shows at 10 o'clock, it really is not a good idea to be covering some trivial clickbait drivel (the breastfeeding story) while your three competitors are covering the top stories.

  9. Like the article mentions, Kornacki has been the primary substitute on Hardball in recent months so I bet he'll continue with that too.

  11. I remember watching Linda, thanks to Superstation WGN carrying the Illinois Lottery Drawings. Its a small part that made WGN News at 9:00 special for those watching outside of Chicago. Well I hope so too. She was the only person there who had a lot of personality and she was fun to watch because she would always smile. She will be missed.

  12. Enjoy "your live Illinois Lottery drawing" while you can! On October 1st, the drawings will move online, where a random number generator will make the selections. Not surprising, but kinda sad to see this go... I feel like it really adds to the charm of the News at Nine. And we'll all miss Linda Kollmeyer, of course. IIRC, the drawings are done in the former home of Bozo (Studio 1?), much of which is still intact behind the green lottery backdrops. It's a big space, and I wonder what they'll do with it.

  14. When you have LIVE coverage from 6:30-8:00 p.m. on the main channel after the regular 6:00 p.m. news, then there's no point in putting a 7:00 p.m. newscast on Cozi TV when there's LIVE coverage of the pope's visit in New York on WNBC 4.
