  1. You guys are reaching big time if you think that photo means that CBS and TW are merging.

  2. I find it interesting Today and GMA went in completely opposite directions with their sets. GMA went more wood and homey while Today went more industrial and poppy.

  3. I wonder if Harry Smith is going to be an official anchor for weekend Today. On Sunday's broadcast they announced with Erica Hill and Harry Smith. Maybe it was just because it was a special edition of Today but it seemed off given that since Lester Holt left the names have been dropped.

  6. It's the end of a news department as KMCC Las Vegas cuts its local news. The MundoMax affiliate had launched local news in April of last year. An email obtained by Media Moves says the decision was made due to "business conditions". It had been struggling to compete, but what foothold it was gaining in the market was wiped out by the name change, cancellation of national news and unpopular programming. Some 20 jobs have been axed.

  7. I'm not sure if this was the thread where we were discussing inaccuracies in their traffic tickers. It looks like it has improved and in the few instances mentioned during the traffic report the traffic appeared correct on the ticker.

  8. I always thought Amy Robach was going to get the Today show spot then Savannah but NBC liked Savannah and maybe impressed with her resume. When Ann Curry debacle happened, they wanted a female anchor who can mirror Matt Lauer and not afraid to stand up to him. They also wanted a cutesy Katie Couric clone which Savannah Guthrie is. Natalie has hindered her promotional chances when stories about her affair with Matt Lauer is still circulating. As long as Matt is still married, the wife will have a say over what happens and Natalie will continue to be the newsreader. This never came out but one insider said Lester actually thought about leaving Today show and possibly NBC because he was not elevating anywhere. It was written in his contract that he could leave NBC if he did not get the top spot of any major NBC show. He was doing the dead end weekend job for 12 years and wanted a change in his schedule. He was the only guy at NBC who paid his dues , working hard and not getting anything to show for it. I speculate that NBC panicked over Lester possibly leaving, and circumstances with Brian Williams embellishments was a blessing in disguise for NBC to keep Lester at the network. If Lester did leave, it would have been an shell shock/nightmare for NBC.If NBC is smart they will do whatever they can to keep Lester Holt content and that includes bumping up his salary cause he is NBC's saving grace. He was the only guy at the network to insiders that never had an ego and never brought drama with him to the network.

  9. Apparently you didn't the "we'll see about that" part. I didn't say it is or isn't going to happen I said we'll see.

  10. It's true; Tamsen just can't be taken seriously. WPIX is just a mess right now. I don't think anyone will be able to get it to where it was again.

  11. WGN's less than thrilled with their 4th place finish at 10pm, so they're doing everything they can to appeal to the younger viewers. EVERYTHING.

  12. Another anchor is on the move. Michelle Marsh of Raleigh-Durham's WRAL is joining Washington DC's WJLA ABC 7. Marsh will anchor the 4:00PM Newscast with Jonathan Elias and the 10:00PM News on NewsChannel 8 on 1/11/16. One note: Michelle's sister Rene works at CNN in DC. http://www.adweek.com/tvspy/michelle-marsh-to-join-wjla-as-anchor/157899

  13. Huh? That's the same link... That article got some things wrong... Vaughn came to WXYZ from San Antonio. He had been there since 2007 when he left WDIV after a very short stint as their weekend anchor...

  15. I think you two are going on very little there. Also, "CBS Paramount" hasn't been a thing since 2009.
