  1. Just so you know, I was being sarcastic in the first part. I can understand if you didn't read it that way.

  2. In Breck is the last remaining hire during Alec Gifford's era at WVUE to persevere at the station. My forecast: warm wishes and a sunny retirement for Bob!

  3. Looks like they bought the real estate only. They also probably will write the equipment/ furnishings off as obsolete. Unless someone with standing marches into Federal Court and challenges with a notice to show cause... it will most likely just fade away. The "Broadcasting Bubble" WILL burst in the near future. Which mega group will cry "too big to fail". Keep watching ClearChannel /IHM.

  4. Ch-ch-ch-changes at WAVY/WVBT... Anita Blanton, currently the weekday 4 and 5:30 PM anchor, will be replacing Nicole Livas on the 5, 6, 10 and 11 PM newscasts alongside Tom Schaad. As was mentioned here a few months back, Livas recently left the station to join her husband in the Washington D.C. area. Blanton's replacement at 4 and 5:30 will be Laura Caso, formerly of WTLV/WJXX, whose first day is today. Caso and current weekend evening anchor Deanna LeBlanc will be the anchors of a new 30 minute 7 PM newscast on WVBT, to premiere March 28th. This will compete with an existing 7 PM show on WGNT, produced by WTKR. Brandi Cummings, currently a weekday reporter, will replace LeBlanc on weekend evenings, in addition to her reporting duties. (source) And speaking of Hampton Roads, VARTV is reporting that WTKR/WGNT anchor Laila Muhammad will be moving to Dallas to co-anchor Tribune's EyeOpener. Her last day is tomorrow, March 4th.
